Breathing NEW LIFE into my Logitech Z5500 sys…..
The media could not be loaded. I researched high and low and these Dayton 3” speakers were the best option there was in terms of performance and price. Although these Daytons are 30wrms and 60w peak as compared to the original Logitech 3” that were around 62wrms, there is no other 3” speaker out there that has greater performance. I wanted to keep my original speaker’s housing so I had to slightly modify the Dayton speakers by cutting off all 4 corners of the speaker chassis as the mounting holes were not lining up with the Logitech speaker housing holes as well as a small modification to the inside face of the Logitech speaker housing for the Dayton speakers to sit flat against the housing faces. Luckily the original screws have washers affixed to them so they clamped the Dayton speakers securely, centered and firmly in place in the housing.Performance:I tested the Dayton speaker on the left against the old Z5500 speaker on the right as shown in the video and the main difference is the new clean, clear and crisp heights as compared to the old Z5500. These Dayton speakers are full range and go up to 20000hz. They sound just as loud as the old Logitech speakers and if you do the maths, it probably is just 1dB lost compared to the Logitech speakers. I did not hear any reduction in loudness though. My Z5500 system sounds phenomenal, like new again. Cheers to many more years of movies and music listening with the Z5500 thanks to these Daytons…..The only negative is that the packaging of the speakers from parts express were not good as one of the speaker had a dent on its chassis corner, it worked for me as I eventually had to modify these speakers for my diy project but the packaging should of been done better at the speakers are just in a box with no foam or any cushioning material. This is a pleasant upgrade and replacement to the Logitech Z5500 system for those of us that needs to replace our old worn out 3” speakers…..

Good product. Disappointingly poor packaging.
I have an old Logitech z5500 and the speakers were showing their age. These 3" full-range drivers turned out to be an excellent replacement. Clear mid-range and crisp heights. The sound quality I believe is better now than when my system was when new.My only complaint is not with the product, but with the packaging. The drivers came in flimsy boxes, with no internal padding to protect the speakers. Two of the units came with mild damage to the chassis.

Pretty good speakers
I used they as dash speakers in my Silverado and they sound pretty good. I built little boxes for them. The lows and mids sound great, the highs are ok. My Tangband's sound better but these are cheaper...

Need a 3” speaker? You’d have to spend a lot more to beat this guy.
I’ve got these in some optimally sized boxes, testing both vented and sealed designs. These little 3” speakers are legitimately going down to 15hz, with 30-35+ hz totally usable.Just another reminder without a good box, a great speaker can’t shine.

Talked with part's express but they weren't ware of this issue so maybe I got a bad batch?
Would give it a 5 star but the glue around the inside lip of the surround where it meets the cone was tacky and collected some wood shavings from my project and was unable to remove them and had to paint over them to cover it up. Talked with part's express but they weren't ware of this issue so maybe I got a bad batch?
