The bottom is smooth. Slides all over the dash. You have to use double sided tape to keep it in place.

Basically nothing more than a very sticky and flexible pad to slap on your dash. For those that want a little extra storage in their car without permanently gluing something down, this is the ticket. Great for phones, keys, change, or anything else you might have. I'd imagine it would work for almost all but the steepest dash boards since the back is very tacky. You'll just want to clean both surfaces very well before using. I don't have any use for the little number tags and i find that the indentions are just something else that collects dust and debris. Otherwise it's a fantastic little pad that offers quite a bit of usability.
