Purchased to use with a portable air con unit. My windows all 4 sides using window frame surround as my measurement was 286cm so I purchased the 300cm(3mtr) hoomee. This was more than enough. Instructions were clear but the basics are cut double sided Velcro to fit around window surround then as my windows open out attach double sided Velcro on inside of window frame. Then attach the hoomee sheet as per instructions making sure you start at your window handle by middling the sheet and simply attach to Velcro. Positives good adhesion to window frame, hoomee sheet is strong and well made and Velcro is good quality. Allows you to habe this fitted all year round as window will close when fitted. Negatives All I can say is having a sheet round your window isn't the prettiest but you can detach the sheet from the velcro if preferred but as I haven't I won't comment on how good fixing and unfixing may affect the adhesion but will say I don't think there would be any loss.

Updated my review following a fantastic experience with customer services. They were extremely helpful and quickly identified that the information on the listing wasn't accurate for my type of side opening window and also sent a video to show the quickest way to fit it. They quickly arranged a replacement which has been fitted and seals all 4 sides completely. Only issue is the zips are a little lose so the hose sometimes comes lose but have wrapped a towel around mine to keep it in place. Does the job nicely and reduces heat from the hose coming back into the room. For the price it's really good and the fabric and velcro is very strong and unlikely to rip like some cheaper versions I've seen. Looks a mess, doesn't really fit properly but does seem to help with the heat generated. Don't think it's really designed for a side opening window. Didn't understand why you only measured 3 sides when it sticks to all 4 either.

With all the hot weather we have been having this summer this kit has been a godsend. No more bugs and fly's coming in through the window. This allows me to vent my Air conditioner with peace of mind. Very simple to install and everything needed is included in the kit. The vendor even sent an email after dispatch with clear instructions. Simply attach the velcro on 3 sides of the window and frame then attach the seal. It is zipped to allow the pipe through and gives a good seal. Good value solution to stopping bugs.

The product itself is well made and does the job so would have been 5 stars if it was as simple to install as advertised. However I cannot give it more than 3 stars due to the unclear instructions and the difficulty in installing it around the fittings of my window. Firstly, the velcro really sticks and WILL take the paint of your window and frames, so you need to stick it in the right place first time. However, this is tricky because unless your window is exactly the same as that shown in the product's idealised pictures it's not obvious until you get it fitted exactly where you need the velcro. Anything about your window that is slightly different to the ideal version shown in the advertisement will distort the path that the velcro needs to follow. For example, my window has a closer and a large handle and locking mechanism so it took some experimenting to find the right position for the velcro. So in my case I followed the instructions (which are really poor by the way - you'll need to watch their Youtube video which is much clearer) and stuck the velcro first, but as the top and bottom (sill) of my casement are horizontal (not vertical like the instructions assume) the cover has to twist through 90 degrees in two directions at each corner which distorts everything as well. When I tried to reposition the velcro to adjust the fit then the paint was pulled off in large patches. My recommendation is to use bluetack or something to stick everything in place temporarily whilst you adjust and make sure everything is in the best position, BEFORE taking off the backing paper and sticking down the velcro permanently.

Our windows are the casement windows and open like doors, our portable air conditioner standard window kits could not fit our window. The cool air escaped to the outside through the window and wasted energy. The conditioner is fine, but without window seal, it didn’t really bring much cool air in my room. I could say, this window seal works great. The zipper is high quality and the cable tie is strong enough to hold the exhaust hose very well. And the seller provides the instruction manual with the installing pictures, making it much easier for me to understand how to install it. It is a very good investment, I’m sure it can save our electricity cost a lot for the coming season.

Here you're essentially buy a strip of material with a zip, and some velcro and velcro tape. The idea is the material creates a seal between the window and frame so that the hot outside air doesn't get back in, yet the air can escapre out of your aircon exhaust pipe. This can also be used for a tumbledryer, but to be honest, not sure how many people would run their tumbledryer like that. At £21, I think it's very expensive for what you're getting, but must admit that it definitely works better than not having it, so despite the price, the efficiency gain would probably make it pay for itself in the long run. Also the aircon just works for effectively and can actually maintain a lower temperature (hot air getting back in more readily otherwise). Do you feel like you're getting value, probably not. Do I regret buying it? - No, it doesn't look pretty and seem good value, but it has served its purpose.

I buy a new one of these each year, as they can get kind of gross after being exposed to outside for many months. The one I previously ordered changed their design to have a “universal” hose attachment, which of course did not fit the hose of my AC unit. I came back to Amazon to find one that has the zipper style opening and found this product. I don’t ever use the Velcro tape that comes with these, because I find the adhesive usually doesn’t hold up and seems to dissolve from heat-I buy the strong outdoors Velcro tape and it works perfectly with this! Setting it up was a pretty straightforward and easy process, and now that it’s been up a couple of months, I can rest assured that it is doing its job. It has been holding up wonderfully so far-the zipper stays taught around the hose exiting to the outside, and it is doing great at keeping the hot air outside instead of inside. I highly recommend measuring to ensure you get the right size, I measured and the fit was perfect. For these weird French windows, I absolutely recommend this product to set up your portable AC! They’re also quite easy to take down when summer is over, thought with the Velcro I have been using, I definitely have a lot of adhesive left behind that I will eventually need to address, but it’s totally worth it to be able to keep my apartment cool during the summer!

I bought this with low expectations, not sure if it would work with my type of window frame (outer casement window). The instructions in the box weren't very clear how I was supposed to install the cloth window seal. I had to look on youtube to get a better sense of what to do. The first time I installed it, I did exactly as the instructions said but since my window opens sideways instead of up/down, I had to rotate the entire setup 90 degrees. Once that was done it fit like a glove. I had to improvise a bit for the placement of velcro though, as the instructions (logically) state that you should not block the window seal when the placement is all said and done, so the window can close properly when you're not using it. This meant that I had to place the velcro straps further away (not on the casement, but on the outer rims of my window) to make sure it would not interfere with the operation of the window. This also means that when I open the window up with the seal on, the shortest end of the window seal (the one closest to the hinges) gets very tight, and in fact I cannot open the window completely anymore without tearing the velcro apart. Ultimately this had no impact on the effectiveness of the seal, it just means I can't open the window completely when my AC is in use, which is never necessary anyway. ---------------------------- I also thought the cloth looked a bit cheap, but after repeated use I can see that it does not absorb any heat, even on exceptionally hot days. So in that respect I can say it does the job well. ----------------------- My last point is the only thing that really made me take off a star on this product - the zippers. You had two sets (of 2) zippers for double hosed AC units, or one hose + a spare zipper for the handle or something else. In my case I have a double hosed portable AC unit, and the way my seal is configured, the handle to open/close the window is INSIDE the window seal. This means I cannot open/close the window without literally prying the velcro apart to access the handle and then putting the velcro back in place afterwards. I wish there there was a 3rd set of zippers for handle use instead. I could just use one set of zippers for the main exhaust hose, and just not use the second hose for air intake instead, but that would drastically decrease the effectiveness of the AC. An extra set of zippers would be practical in the future. --------------------------- Extra zip ties would also be a nice addition, since I anticipate I will need to remove the hoses come autumn and reinstall them next summer again. They only provide you with 3 (why an odd number?) zip ties so I'll definitely need to go out and get some more at a later date. ---------------------------- Overall a surprisingly good product, I've managed to drop the temperature in my room by an extra 3C over the span of an hour compared to my old jury-rigged solution involving cardboard. Installation relatively simple, just wish there was an extra pair of zippers for the handle I can't access to my window anymore.
