Center Line Scribers and Marking Tool

I was exited to receive this scribe for knife making. I was very happy to inspect the scribe to find it to be constructed of high quality materials. So when i put the scribe to work i was VERY disappointed to find that the scribe point in not properly aligned with the metal guides. The scribe etches the center line of material thickness quit a bit off center from the true center of the material thickness making the tool useless. Will have to return the item.UPDATE 11/9/2024After close study of the tool and my use of it I have discovered that if you are not careful in keeping the scribe completely vertical with your work, the scribe will scratch your center line just slightly off center. If you are careful in holding the scribe completely vertical and perpendicular to your work the scribe will place the scratch mark exactly along the center of your material. Therefor I revised my comment - This product gets a full 5 stars - just be careful how you hold the scribe in relation to your material. My initial negative comment was a result of user error not an error with the scribe.

Excellent, very precise. Easy to use, not for larger projects.

Meant for thin boards only, so I really don't have a use for it at the moment. Quality seems good but not for thicker woods.
