The grip on the top adds stability and keeps fingers out of the way when using a rotary cutter. There is a small grip on the bottom which helps keep the cutter from sliding while applying pressure when cutting. I love the 24" size and I wish I had ordered this sooner (before cutting off the tip of my thumb)

The quality is better than other rulers I have used. It is strong, sturdy and has grip so it does not move. I will use this for years. I am very pleased with this ruler.

Hello??? If you cut things with a knife, you can't do without this. Cutting mats, vinyl, acrylic, decals, paper, photos, magazines, what ever you have to cut with a utility knife, you'll need this.

I cut sublimation prints daily for my business and while using rolling cutter, it slipped over the ruler and cut off part of my finger. Ouch. I found this and although it is a bit on the expensive side, it works and is ultimately way less costly than an ER visit. Lol.
