LIVOLO Wireless Remote Control Light Switch White with LED Indicator with Tempered Glass Panel Wall Touch Light Switch 1 Gang 1 Way,No Battery, VL-C301R-61-R

Needed a solution for a disabled person who could not reach the light switch. After 3 smart bulbs stopped working with Alexa, lasting from a just couple of months to just a couple of weeks, gave up on them and tried a smart switch in the wall which could not get enough wifi signal due I theorise to a metal wall box, which would have needed tearing out the wallbox and replacing with a plastic one, and still no guarantee of working. Tried this remote switch and it works perfectly, so problem solved. The smart bulbs were a real disapointment since we have a couple of mains wifi sockets in the room which work perfectly with Alexa so signal qualty was not a problem.

Overall, I am happy with the purchase. My only issue with this switch is the remote's shape and the fact it has too many buttons (I only need the remote to switch one light). I wish there was an option to buy a single-button remote for this.The faceplate looks nice, but I wish I never have to take it off. It snaps in place and it feels like it will be difficult to remove without damaging the faceplate itself or the wall around it.

I never write reviews but thought this product deserves a small review to provide confidence for other potential buyers.It works brilliantly both as a touch switch and with the remote control. The remote works from just about any distance, I can be in a separate room and turn on the lights (old Victorian house with internal brick walls).Please note, as detailed on it's advertising, the battery is not included and needs a small 12v MN27. The switch and remote are good quality, the switch has a metal rear casing to protect the internal circuit and screw terminals easily marked to show what goes where. The front face plate comes off easily to reveal the screw holes and once mounted onto a standard UK back box, the front face plate clicks easily back into place.

Product brought ready for certified electrician to install our switch for extractor fan for bathroom is located too high up to reach to turn on and off. Therefore this switch with remote sensor was ideal and when electrician came to install this for us after brought from here we realized it did state albeit very small that the remote needed batteries we then purchased batteries and remote lit up electrician then came back to install all hooked up ready to test and the remote doesn't link with the sensor it then cost me more money to have the old switch installed back in to make safe electrician said to send it back. As we brought in Feb 2023 and electrician couldn't get back to us to do the job until March 2023 it was after the time to return the product. Bad timing for us but paying almost 30 pounds for a switch in the current climate not great for it to not even work. Do not buy

Now I've got this installed, I'm reasonably happy with it: it works reliably so far and looks quite nice. But...The remote control doesn't come with a battery and the instructions don't explain that anywhere. You'll need a small cross-head screwdriver to take it apart, and a single A27 battery.The instructions note that the "depth of the mounting box is 65mm". However it fits fine into a 40-45mm "back box" (the box the front of a light switch is attached to), which is good as it's about the largest you can get. 20mm wasn't enough, 30mm might have been.It took a little while to get the face plate off the rest of the unit and again this wasn't mentioned in the instructions. This is necessary so that the unit can be screwed into the back box. You have to lever a flat head screwdriver in the notch at the bottom of the face plate and twist a bit (which does dent the plastic slightly).There was nowhere to attach the earth wire from the mains supply, and no mention of it in the instructions. Often these are just tied off in plastic light switch housings, but this unit has some metal even if it's hidden away once installed so it would have made sense to be able to fix the earth wire to it.

Didn't fit the standard light box and made a complaint to the manufacturer even though it was out of the Amazon warranty they refunded anyway

I purchased this for a new extension however due to COVID it has taken a lot longer to complete. The electrician looked it install this unit however the screw in the top of one of the wire connections was that tight it broken trying to remove it. However because I purchased these some time ago I am unable to return the unit.
