Right out of the packaging, this stuff appears hopeless. But, let it sit overnight...Magic! It could be a tad short of the 1.5-inches the add mentions....but its fairly close.Hint: If you are doing any customized cut-outs, do it right out of the packaging while the material is very, very thin....it will begin expanding relatively quickly....mark it and cut it as soon as you unwrap, save any outside trimming for later.Another hint: If the material is fully expanded, try using an electric kitchen carving knife to do your cutting..

the foam comes vacuum packed... and is very thin. cut it when thin (I didn't) it cuts okay when expanded but I bet would cut so much easier when thin.I used 3M super 77 adhesive and it sticks well, it cushions well.. I have no idea how long it lasts as I just installed it today

Compared with other products this one is not friendly to use unless you have some proprietary melting device.
