Toaster 4 Slice, Extra-Wide Long Slot 4 Slice Toaster with Countdown Timer, Bagel/Reheat/Defrost/Cancel Functions, 6 Browning Setting, 1500W Brushed Stainless Steel

This is my third Long Slot Toaster that I've ordered, and first two were duds, but this one is GREAT! It toasts my artisan oblong slices of bread, my thick square bread, and my English Muffins, and does it perfectly. Haven't tried a Bagel yet, but the little diagram engraved on the top of the toaster will remind me to put the sliced bagel in the toaster correctly, as in Bagel mode it only toasts one side. This one is a "keeper"!

Nothing to dislike. Attractive to look at and slim lined. I love this toaster - it not only takes 4 slices to toast, but it also takes the large thicker slices from the hard crusted bread types that are so much bigger than regular bread. I use it a lot for Bagels. Great toaster and highly recommend it to others.

After about 20 years my Kitchenaid long slot toaster that I loved finally died and I had to find a replacement. I would have gone back to Kitchenaid but their toasters have become very retro looking which is not my preference. I have never heard of the brand Dowylik, but the reviews were good so I figured I would give it a try. I've had it for about a week and a half and it seems to get the job done as far as properly toasting. The thing I do not like about it is that the controls are all on the side - which I do not care for. Have to move the toaster every time you need to look at or change a setting - seems to be a thing with many of the new toasters. The countdown timer is functionally useless unless you move the toaster every time you use it or want to peek around the side to see how much time before your toast pops up. So at least for now toast is fine - design not so much.

Makes great toast & bagels!!

Even with a beautiful exterior, countdown, defroster and larger slots what good is a toaster that toasts so uneven that part of the toast doesn’t get ANY color? Look at my pic. I mean come on! It’s like the Jekyll and Hyde of Toasters! For a toaster that doesn’t toast, how about 2 stars? Yes, I thought so.

I’m reviewing the DOWYLIK 4-Slice Extra-Wide Slot Toaster. Comparing to past toasters, this is the nicest toaster we’ve owned. It can accommodate bagels, English muffins, long pieces of artisan bread like sourdough, or four pieces of regular bread arranged edge-to-edge in the long slots. The outside casing is beautiful brushed stainless steel. The front also features a digital countdown timer, a six-level knob for toasting preferences and four sleek buttons (bagel, reheat, defrost and stop) for further customization. I wish the electric cord ran from the rear short side, but instead it is mounted on the long side, near the control panel. I don’t think it was necessary to have six toasting levels, unless you enjoy burnt-to-a-crisp toast or maybe that setting works for frozen items. The insulated panels inside the toaster walls do help dissipate the heat quickly to prevent the outside casing from getting too hot to touch. Definitely Recommend.

Updated.Contacted manufacturer and they contacted me to fix the situation. I updated my review from 2 to 4 stars. It means a lot to me when manufacturers care.First off the cord comes out same side as the controller, since no images show this. My biggest issue is the right hand side slot will not close unless you slam down the front lever multiple times. I could bend each one of the metal tangs where they are getting stuck, but i really shouldn't have to fix the design of a $55 dollar toaster. The other issue is that slot that runs around the outside is a crumb magnet and is very hard to clean. This toaster constantly smells like something is burning since my kid put toast in and it landed right on the burner due to metal not closing. I had high hopes for this toaster, but I will keep looking.
