These tiny, jewel-toned bubbles of cleanliness—Finish Gelpacs—are like little wizards in shiny armor, marching gallantly into the sticky, sauce-splattered battlefield that is my dishwasher. One toss of a Gelpac, and poof!—last night’s lasagna, this morning’s oatmeal, and that mystery crust from who-knows-when are banished to the realm of forgotten grime. The orange scent? A cheerful burst of citrus sunshine that greets me when I open the dishwasher door, as if my dishes just spent the day at a spa. The plates gleam with smug satisfaction, the glasses sparkle like gossiping fairies, and even my most rebellious coffee mug (you know the one) finally submits to the shine. No measuring, no mess—just plop, lock, and let the magic unfold. It’s like hiring a tiny team of orange-scented elves who whisper, “We’ve got this,” before diving into a sea of suds. Eighty-four Gelpacs later, my dishes and I are living happily ever after.

These work great and this is the best price I’ve seen. They can leave a slimy residue on the dishes though but I suspect that could be due to cycle type (length of cleaning cycle, hot start wash, etc.) Decent scent, not overwhelmingly “cleaning product” smell.

Aah! The gel packs. I moved off granular soap and on to gel-pacs at the recommendation of a friend who was an appliance man. The problem was how cloudy my dishes and glassware looked when I took them out of the dishwasher. He suggested I toss a Gelpac in the bottom of the dishwasher (not in the soap drawer) and see how the dishes come out. Wella! They came out clean looking just the way I'd hoped. Finish Gelpac is what I always use in my dishwasher.

We gave a whole house water conditioner so we didn’t need the “water softener” component found in many dishwasher detergent gel packs. These just wash the dishes and do it well. No residue. No weird smell. Just dishwasher detergent mixed with our conditioned water. I am also glad they come sealed inside a plastic bag inside a cardboard container-easily recycled. No hard-to-recycle plastic bottle or tub.

I have been using these Finish orange gelpacs exclusively for many years now, and they are the only dishwasher tabs/pacs that I will use. I have never had any issue after all these years with incomplete rinsing of the actual detergent, nor have I had any complaints about how well they clean. My personal experience with some of the powder/solid tabs has not been a very good one, which is the reason I ended up using these orange gelpacs in the first place. They just work well, without any problems at all - and I stick with what works.

If you're the sort of person that rinses off your dishes and loads them straight into the dishwasher as you use them, this will work great. I have found that it seems to struggle a bit with getting pots and pans clean. Apparently, there are different levels of "clean" that finish products provide, and this isn't at the top. Then again, the price on these is difficult to beat. Pros: Great for dishes and silverware. The smell is pure awesome! Cons: Will struggle to clean dried-on/cooked-on food.
