Hi. I’m a construction superintendent, I build homes for a living. I was looking for a good penlight. After going through a few industry favorites (streamlight etc.) I discovered this light. This is the best light I have ever used for daily carry. The power light is perfect for basements without electricity and inspections. The moon light is perfect for when I wake up before my wife and I need to get around the room without waking her up. The laser is excellent for pointing out framing issues to trades and learning about issues from inspectors. I even use the UV light to ensure the cleanliness of bathrooms before closing on homes. The best part is, I only charge this thing every two weeks — and I use it EVERY DAY. I use the high power beam for at least 20-30m every day, and the laser all the time. It works perfectly in 11F (lowest temp tested). I haven’t tested subzero temps, but it’s never given me any issues. I literally never leave the house without it. I don’t use the UV light all that much to be honest. We have a long haired cat that pukes all the time, so sometimes I use it to see whether or not my shag carpet is clean. However, I’ve heard you can use it to see ringworm infections etc. on yourself and animals, as well as to detect oil leaks in car engines. TBH I don’t use it much, but it’s awesome that I have it IF I want it. Like any tool, more capability is better. I can’t say much as to how the Arkfield Pro compares to the Arkfield Ultra, as I don’t own the Ultra yet. I believe the only differences are that the Ultra has 100 more lumens of light and a proprietary aluminum alloy body that is tougher and more resistant to scratches. In order to be persuaded to spend the extra $30 on the Ultra, I would need to see an increase in battery life (which there is not, as far as I can tell) and a more significant increase in lumens and possibly more options for brightness. I’m probably going to get the ultra at some point because I love this company and I’m kind of a collector of penlights, but I feel like the difference isn’t enough for the normal risk-averse consumer to go for the upgrade. Ultimately, this light is THE light if you use your light on the job. Whether you’re a mechanic, a framer, an electrician, a plumber, or a super: this light is for you. It fits with a utility knife in the mid-thigh height side pocket of any pair of work pants (you know the one). I put my sharpies on the other side and I’m ready for the day. This light is daily carry whether I’m working or not, though. I’ll bring this bad boy to the bar. 10/10, 100%, 1. This is a perfect light. Look no further because you’ve found the one.

Let’s start: First, the TLDR; it’s fantastic! Well made, hard bodied, magnetic rechargeable base! Oh my! I didn’t carry a flashlight, now it’s part of my everyday gear. Is it worth $100? I’d say no, except I’d buy it again if I lost mine! Yes! Yes it is! The longer: [I wasn’t paid for my review; and I paid for the product with my own money - this wasn’t a promotional review and I’ve received nothing free. I’ve owned and carried my Arkfeld Pro for ~30 days when I wrote this review.] Am I an OLIGHT fan? I wasn’t, but I own 2 of their flashlights and I’m looking at a 3rd now. They are converting me for sure! Do I believe that flashlights are EDC? I didn’t before now. Is $100 too much for a flashlight? I thought so, but I just can’t say that anymore. Do I use EDC gear? I carry a G43 and an OTF knife daily, yes. Also, I now carry an Arkfeld Pro daily… What’s my verdict? Holy cow, I now carry a flashlight daily! This thing is actually fantastic! The flashlight is well made with a solid and hard metal body. The magnetic base is useful for working on a car, sticking to corners with metal bead in the walls, clipping anywhere the clip doesn’t. …and about that clip, wow. Someone put thought into the design of a clip? Yes! Will clip in either orientation thanks to the clip design. Strong clipping that I haven’t been able to make slip either. Have clipped facing down at the very bottom of a thin undershirt when I’ve been up in the middle of the night. Doesn’t let go, and keeps light down and from waking my wife. The light is incredible! Multiple brightness selections, strobe. Oh yeah, that’s only one mode! It has three! It has a laser, and a UV light. The laser is bright and powerful, though daytime use is limited like most lasers. The UV light is incredible as well, and I actually find myself using that more at night to navigate our dark house without waking the wife or kids. Pros: it’s incredible - It’s powerful. The size is perfect for your hand and the square shape makes it oddly nice to grip. Battery life must be ridiculous because I’ve run mine so much and it takes forever to need charging. The charger is a nice magnetic charger with led indicators that are bright and unmistakable: you know when it’s connected and when it’s full! Although it’s not really necessary, because you really can’t connect it wrong! Whoever designed this thing should get an award! Cons: Well, let’s be honest - the price. But! Hear me out… what can you get (that’s quality) for cheap now. For $100, and I thought that was high too until I used it, this is a steal! I can’t think of another con, unless we want to count the size for the sake of loss. But the clip is incredibly strong, and short of leaving it magnetized to something, I can’t see how you’d lose it. Try it. It’s only $100 and it’s so incredibly good! I absolutely love mine, and I can’t see discontinuing carrying the thing. It’s just part of my daily gear now.

love this thing, it’s perfectly bright and super useful for my work as a auto technician. The magnet on the back is strong enough to let me stick it on surfaces to hold it for me and the uv allows me to find leaks with uv dye. Definitely recommend

magnet so strong it was able to catch itself from falling, it ended up falling into a what could be described as a hydraulic press and was able to survive being CRUSHED by several tons of force, unfortunately the bright flashlights did not survive however the durable and high quality aluminum allowed the laser to survive, charge and even still work as a laser pointer despite being damaged beyond any repair, 100% worth it as a gift. i even purchased a newer version since I liked this product so much. used for over 6 months without fail.

Originally I bought this tool for work but now I find myself using it for my everyday life too. It has a great amount of lumens and the blacklight is an amazing feature for use at my job, the laser is also a handy tool, its a perfect size for me to keep in my pocket and I love the clip design, it makes putting it on my pockets lip or belt effortlessly and it has a good durability to it. I love this item so much and the pure versatility of it that im thinking of buying another one for personal use and EDC with my pocket knife and possibly getting one for my dad for Christmas for his work too.
