Easy to remove the existing lock assembly and replace with this one. The OEM latch broke off leaving a U shaped piece from the end stuck in the old lock assembly. I didn't know if I was going to be able to get it out (I succeeded, eventually), but wanted to have this one on hand so I could get the washing machine back to operational again as soon as the parts arrived. I decided to install this new lock assembly as part of the fix, and after getting the broken piece out of the old one am keeping it as a spare in case something happens to the new one. So far so good and we've washed a lot of clothes since I got it installed! Lots cheaper than the OEM lock assembly!

We unfortunately bought electrolux brand washer and dryer and have had nothing but problems from about 6 months onwards. We signed up for a home warranty plan to cover appliances since our washer and dryer and kenmoore fridge were always having problems but on top of the hundreds a year that costs, our warranty coverage requires $75 just to come out to diagnosis the problem even if we tell the agent over the phone what the problem is. Suspecting that some repairs dont really cost 200+ in parts and labor I decided to research the problem myself. The door hinge metal clip seemed to have broken off and I thought that was all that would be needed. I think it must have broken off inside this door lock hinge so I also picked up one of these since I was unable to get the broken pieces of metal out of the existing one. Either way - 50 for this piece and 13 for the door latch and voila! I fixed it myself with a screwdriver and $63 where the un-named home warranty company would have charged me $75 and waited 2 weeks to come out, another 3-4 weeks for parts that are always on backorder even though I can find them on Amazon, and then another 2-4 weeks to come out to install said replacement parts.

Our latch had broken and was stuck in our door lock assembly. 10 minutes to replace both. Works great - just like new. Arrived in 1 day. My wife was happy that our washer was usable in only 24 hours!!

I problem solved what was wrong with my washer and realized I needed this part. It was easy to install and fixed the washer issues.

The door latch broke off in the door lock. This was an easy fix, the part was perfect for my Electrolux washer. I watched a you tube video for installation. ( I also replaced the latch, since it was broken ) It took about 5 minutes for both and I was back to washing. The price was so affordable next to all the other sites I had researched.

I was hopeful, after I realized that the replacement lock switch assembly for our Electrolux washing machine was readily available through Amazon and in my hands the next day. Installation was simple. Loaded up the washer and started the wash. It finished and then . . . . the door lock would not release. I tried everything. Spent a few hours with the machine's manual and on the web. Nothing worked. Then had to pay through the nose for a repair person. Faulty lock switch. He installed a new one and everything works fine. So much for what should've been an under-$50 repair. Let's hope the refund is processed as quickly as the delivery.

My door latch on my front loader broke a few weeks ago so I replaced it with an Amazon part only to find that the root cause was locking mechanism. No problem, I ordered the locking mechanism online from Amazon and replaced it myself. I can’t tell you how easy these home repairs have become with Amazon and YouTube! You should try it!!!
