How did I live without it?
A couple of months ago, I bought an old Singer 96-40 (industrial sewing machine) on Ebay. It had the original Singer clutch motor. Love, love, love the machine -- but the clutch motors run continuously when the machine is turned on -- and they're very loud. Whenever I turned it on, I felt like I was opening an airport. No kidding! I'm also fairly sure that running it jacked up my electric bill about $35.00 in one month. Then I did a bit of research and found that these SERVO MOTORS were available. Mine switched out quite easily -- didn't even have to drill new holes in the industrial sewing machine table. It fit like a glove! Of course -- the table and the clutch motor were very heavy -- and so I needed the help of my daughter for some of the lifting. But I'm a 70-year-old granny -- and I did the actual installation myself! The motor makes no sound unless I'm actually sewing. What an improvement. How did I ever live without this? As far as the dial that's supposed to reduce the speed of the machine -- I'm not sure if mine is broken or if my machine is just too old to use the technology -- but it doesn't appear to have altered the speed of the machine that much. It could be me, I guess. And I wasn't necessarily interested in that slowing down thingie. For others -- like those sewing leather, for instance -- that might be an issue. For me -- I couldn't be happier.

very good product
The media could not be loaded. This motor has a lot of strength and very soft not noisy at all . Was very easy to install, I installed myself. I attached to a Juki machine and it works perfect.

Easy install
Easy install. Good max speed adjustment is lower than other machines and is what you need for an antique machine. Watch the videos. Videos are fantastic to explain tightening and adjustments. Works well. Sews like a dream. Makes a good sound sewing. Very quiet. Love it

Great motor
I recently swapped out a clutch motor on my industrial pfaff to this one. It works really well and its small and its not always spinning which is nice. Its very quiet and has good pedal control. I gave it 4 stars because I don't think that the speed control actually does anything. I was hoping that it set the max speed and then the foot pedal would allow for fine control up to that speed. In practice that doesn't seem to be the case. If I turn the speed control all the way down then the motor doesn't move at all but once its set at a speed that can move (around 1000) on my dial) then it seems to have the same top speed anywhere on the dial.Don't get me wrong, this motor is great. I just wish that the speed controller worked like I wanted it to.

The "Go To" Server Motor
This review is for the 550 Watt. TBH - I am a little surprised at the quality of this motor. As far as I can tell there is nothing like it anywhere on Amazon. The manual resist RPM control knob "feels" nice and smooth. The cork brake is an awesome safety feature. The motor does not feel like a "toy" like other servo motors on Amazon, has some weight to it. Comes with a spare cork brake and brushes that I will probably never use unless I start a sewing business. Does not come with the foot pedal control arm so I just used the one I had. The RPM control knob works as maximum RPM set point in concert with the pedal position sensor so you can get really slow stitch speeds. I had to use a smaller belt approx 4inches went form a 42 to a 38inch belt. I also bought the 45mm pulley and can sew perfectly straight lines at ~2 stitches per second. Compare that to the "clutch motor of death" that I was replacing that would eat anything I put below the needle at 1600 stitches per second or more. Bottom line is this is a great little motor.

Well worth the cost and the power is awesome!
I used this motor to switch out my 220 on my industrial sewing machine the 220 motor was heavy about 100lbs and this 110v was maybe 30lbs if that! It was easy to install, and the best part is you can easily adjust the power with a knob and it's more power than you will ever need for an in home industrial machine, my machine is still very fast, faster than any regular sewing machine. I would absolutely recommend this motor to anyone wanting to make their sewing machine compatible with the standard in home outlet plugs!

Great motor
My motor burned out on my machine and to replace with a"brand name" motor would have been $400-500. When I found this one on Amazon I called my service tech and he encouraged my to get it. It was very easy to install, just needed a new belt with it. New motor is quiet and efficient compared to the original clutch motor I had and I'm saving on electricity due to the operation of this motor. As a professional upholsterer I need reliable equipment and this is a very good deal.
