So, if you want to skip the story, it’s made Fairly well, gongs as it should although I’d change the mallet for a deeper sound, it’s well worth the $.Story: We went to a Thai restaurant every year for our daughter’s b day.( 13- till going to college)The owner’s mother loved walking up to tables with one like this during guest’s birthday’s. It was her happiness to announce birthdays at 80+It became a family event each year.Moving forward a few yrs, Covid etc, the place closed unfortunately and we bought our own gong for own now college graduated daughter so she wouldn’t miss out. ;-)All her friends now want to borrow for their family’s birthdays. Funny how a simple instrument can bring so much enjoyment.I know, nothing you needed to know in order to sleep tonight but it’s been fun.

I liked the size and brightness of it as I was hanging it 9 1/2 feet in the air in a Halloween display. It is heavier and needs a sturdy support and a good quality strong cable to hang it with. The end of the gong smitter didn't survive the inclement weather and fell off along with the ribbon. I'd recommend a smaller rubber ball and a heavier type material for a ribbon. Would work best either inside or a covered outside.

The media could not be loaded. Gong took up space to get attention, made a nice gong in an already loud theater, is lovely and I believe helped me bring home runner up for RHPS main character contest! It was worth it to me. For the money i spent I think it's a great value.

Quality sound which is full and is robust. I love using it in my classroom and it gets student attention during transitions. After they finish work, hitting the gong is their reward so everyone is motivated to turn in and finish quality work.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my Burning Man camp to signal when meals are ready, and I was excited that it arrived on time, but testing it was a let-down. In addition to the expected "gong sound", there's also a distinct higher-pitched overtone that sounds almost like microphone feedback. I know gongs already aren't everybody's cup of tea, but I'm quite a fan of their sound in general; not so with this one. You get what you pay for, I guess. Will likely return.
