It seemed fresh, acted as it should. Package was sealed. I used it in Zephyr marshmallows and it acted fine.

Used this to make gummy candy and it worked well. They did melt faster than gelatin but I suppose that's normal. Taste was good, very fine grain agar agar, easy to dissolve and set up fairly quick.

I had to come up with some vegan options for food for my daughter’s wedding. I found a cheese recipe that called for gelatin and found out that there isn’t a vegan option for gelatin. The gal at the vegan store told me there was recent testing on vegan gelatin and they weren’t actually vegan. She recommended a agar agar and this was amazing in the cheese recipe. I got a lot of compliments in the mac and cheese dish that I used the vegan cheese I made in.

Used this agar agar powder for both mushroom culture plates and a vegan dessert. In both cases, it solidified very fast and held structure well — no sagging or weeping.For culture plates, I used 8g per 500ml water with 20g dry malt extract. Boiled until fully dissolved, then pressure-cooked at 15 PSI for 25 minutes.If you’re doing food: dissolve in cold water first before heating. Once it boils, stir constantly for 2–3 minutes until fully clear, then pour. Sets in under 10 minutes. This powder is strong, start with less if you’re unsure.Keep it dry — it will clump if the bag’s not sealed.
