Love it. It's two mats and they aren't *exactly* the same size but I don't mind at all. I put cheap shelf liner strips under these to hold them in place on the floor a little better, seems to work alright. The rushes do smell strongly and not in a good way at first, but as the mats air out it's not so bad, it even mixes with my floral reed diffuser somewhat pleasantly. I expect it'll get more subtle with time. They're smooth and relaxing.My favorite thing is that they really complete my living room space, it's perfect for sitting on the floor with my knitting and tea when I want to decompress. I'm really glad I decided to get these instead of just sitting on the floor, even if it's only a little padding it clearly designates the space for relaxing purposes only. Just need some wall paint and it'll be heaven!

Have used this mat daily for several months with no issues or problems. This mat is opened and closed daily to use as a base for a roll up mattress that gets put away in the closet each morning. There has been no tears but a couple small loose fibers here and there. Love the real grass smell! If you are looking for this style of japanese floor mat then look no further! Exactly what I wanted. Authentic fresh tatami smell when opened. Works great for my Japanese themed room. Since it’s a thin mat, not like a real tatami, I added a baby cushion mat underneath it and it feels great now.

It stunk up my place the first day but the smell's going away and isn't really that bad because I slept like a rock on this thing. It went away after I left it outside for a few hours. Folding and putting this thing away is a blessing since it takes up less space than it does on the floor. It's a perfect level of thick and firm for me to get comfy and is really nice on your back. Would rate 5 stars if it didn't have such a powerful IAMS dog food smell

This thing still stinks, I’ve had it for 3 months. It smells like a hamster cage, I’m throwing it out if I can’t return it.

I bought this for my Japanese bed. It is well made and does exactly what I needed. It is a bargain.

It does what its meant to do, but as a warning, it smells like a horse stable. Not sure why, but smell is pretty bad.

I don't really know anything about what makes a tatami mat good, but as the first mat I am pleased with the purchase. The smell isn't very noticeable unless you put your nose right up to it and it goes away eventually.
