Bad design
This is the worst product ever created! My wife hates it and has been a sore subject in my kitchen ever since I put it under the sink. It doesn’t drain so It fills with water and then dumps all over the front of the cabinet which leaks into the cabinet ruining the base cabinet floor. It also stinks so bad no matter what you do to clean it.

Helps save your septic
We ordered the #Sepura Composting Garbage disposal for our vacation rental home. We have a septic system and were looking for a way to control (eliminate) the amount of food product that ended up in the septic tank. We came across this garbage disposal and thought this was our solution. The first thing you notice is how large this device is. It will take up a lot of space under your sink. Installation is similar to a standard garbage disposal, but I did take off one star because of the tight space between the sink and the disposal. There isn't a lot of room to work because of the size of the unit. Once installed, it works by moving food items from the drain to a holding "bucket" via a powered screw. The screw moves the food items but allows the water to drain as normal. To clean it out, you just pull the drawer, remove the bucket and empty the bucket. You can choose to compost the "catchings" or just dump them in the trash. If you do decide to dump them, just be aware that there will be residual water in the bucket. The unit is too new to provide a long-term verdict, but for now, the unit does what it's supposed to do and does it well.

Not a disposal.
This does not function as a disposal. Only collects food for compost. Ad is very deceptive. Also impossible to return if you only opened the package. Amazon should correct the listing.

Doesn’t fit
Doesn’t fit my kitchen sink. Also doesn’t fit any of my 15 other sinks on the property. 2 inches too long for standard sink-counter size.Beautiful idea, yet not thought through… and too expensive

Works fine but did not fit under my sink
Overall, this does what it is supposed to do and separates out food pieces that go down the drain into a bin. Had no problem with larger pieces such as bell pepper cores. As their website recommends, I put the coffee grounds in manually, but if you use disposable/compostable coffee filters, there is an option to ball that up and run it through the unit.It would be nice if they have units configured in different ways, for example, a unit that has the bin opening to the side rather than the front, but with a narrower opening. With a single basin sink there was no way I could get the entire unit to fit as intended and still be able to open the drawer, without redoing my existing plumbing or cabinets entirely (which is possible, but I opted not to do that). However, I was able to make it work by not using the black bin and separating the LED/IR panel. Smells are typically not an issue where I live because it is so dry so it works just fine without the entire enclosure.

Not able to install
My professional plumber couldn’t install this. Pieces were too flimsy to hold in place. They won't let you return it because it has been opened. Plumber cost a fortune for no successful install. company's only option is to send replacement pieces for the pieces that aren't well designed... apparently I should spend thousands of dollars to install this.Got extra parts. Drain tube came out and screws were unable to unscrew to refit the bracket. Device sticks out to far on a normal depth sink so wouldn’t have been able to close cabinets. Device came off flange almost instantly while trying that fit. Piece of junk. Just hoping I can get my garbage disposal back in because I don’t want to pay $$ to a plumber again.
