Best book I've read in years
This book is my new Bible. Very concise, to the point, and filled with excellent information and profound insights. Not so wordy that the pertinent information gets lost in the fog. Also includes very useful practice tips to help put the teachings into daily practice. This book is exactly what I was looking for.

This book is an everyday look at Buddhist practices
Well organized and affective look at real and modern life attitudes that we all experience. I found myself re-reading previous paragraphs that peaked my curiosity and challenged many of my distorted views through looking at concepts that I previously held for several years. The author has a gift of getting right to the point of things without use of unnecessary jibberish. I recommend this book to anyone who (like myself) gets caught up in faulty thinking and unable to see and accept things as they really are. Reading this book has helped me understand things I have struggled with during my 80 years on this planet. It’s still not too late to learn things in a way I have never thought of.

Great for practitioners and clients
“This is what Ive been looking!” for exclaimed my fellow therapist colleague. She was not wrong. This book provides a clear map to better, peaceful and more joyful way of life. Perfect in helping explain techniques and mindshifts to clients but also easy for a client to gain skills reading it for themselves. Thank you Dr Jones for sharing your insights

Western Psychotherapy and Eastern Buddhist Psychotherapy
I’m not even halfway thru this thought-provoking book before having to leave a comment. I have always been into reading psychology and spiritual self-help books, looking for “answers” to life… His comparing the two side by side, the reader sees truth in what he has written. You can’t read this book quickly. You have to digest it piece by piece, to begin to understand yourself and the world we live in nowadays. Can’t recommend this read enough if you are interested in psychology and Buddhist belief systems.

Stress Less Easily with a Easy Practice
The Mindful Path: Combining Psychotherapy and Buddhist Practices, written by Michael Jones, PhD, is an outstanding book that I would recommend for those who wander into the Self-Help section and do not know where to begin. The Mindful Path evaluates how our mind operates and how to recalibrate when our cognitive behavior influences our well-being. Adjoining practices with Buddhism, a new concept for me, awakened my mindset that I and others tackle daily. Life isn't easy, and this book makes it apparent. What it does teach you is how to relearn and approach your cognitive behavior from a different perspective. As humans, we experience trauma on multiple levels and Michael Jones guides you strategically in easy-to follow methods to aid in strengthening your mental health.Michael Jones writes with the clarity and fluency of a friend offering sage advice. As he is a long-practicing Psychologist, he gently offers practical advice and applies it to real scenarios. To be blunt, his verbiage does not come off as "preachy" or "medical" based. He combines his education and spirituality cohesively and helps you to understand WHY you may feel a think a certain way and how to break down these stressors rationally to aid in healthier mental practices.I'd like to say this book found me. Currently, my life is in a complete transitionary period and events beyond my control are happening daily. I could write a book on how bizarre, what happenstances have occurred in the last few months. Reading this book was the unknown happenstance I needed to bridge the gaps I had no idea how to close without stress or burn out. Though, as stated, this book is The Mindful Path. As long as we can process thought, we find ourselves on this journey and it's okay to stray from the path, because there is always a way back.More importantly, as I found this a Self-Help book, it brought my attention to a perspective outside myself to a "help-all/be mindful" book. We all have our own demons, upbringing, daily battles, worries, and ups and downs. Remember, we are all on The Mindful Path. Each journey is unique and all feelings are valid, whether we can empathize or not. What we can do is offer more kindness and understanding. Spirituality is rooted as deep as you plant it; you can aid in how it flourishes.Buy a hard copy. This book was provided as an ARC for my review. In no way is my review impartial or skewed.

great book
Really in simple terms goes through the overlap of cbt and Buddhism. It feels as though the author has a deep understanding of both.

The Mindful Path: Combining Psychotherapy and Buddhist Practices, is an interesting read, which explains how common everyday struggles may be effectively addressed, using CBT and Buddhist principles. Dr. Jones endeavors to teach his readers fairly simple and common sense methods to change behavior in an effort to be happier. The book is easily understood and quite enjoyable. Such a powerful book
I purchased this book to help me move forward on a journey to a new life after losing four of the most important people in my life, my husband, my sister, my mum and my brother all within a 2 year period. The grief I was feeling was at times overwhelming. The loss of a future and letting go of what I thought my life would be has been traumatic and hard. This book has helped me to understand these feelings and has given me insight and strategies to cope with these feelings. The comparison between psychotherapy (CBT) and Buddhist practices was a powerful one and for me I saw the value of adopting the Buddhist Eightfold Path into my life and that actually I was already doing that but hadn’t ’labelled’ it. By adopting the practices in this book I believe it has made a big difference to how I view life and has helped me on my path to a new and different life to the one I had expected to be living. The book is also written in a way that is very easy to read and understand. If you are struggling in any way with your feelings or living with depression, anxiety and fear of change I would recommend you read this book. It really has helped me.

Immediately assimilated into my work
If you are interested in integrating Buddhist concepts into your sessions, without needing to directly label them as such, this book is invaluable. The weaving of Buddhist wisdom with CBT is seamless and extremely user friendly. I have never before encountered a book that was not only engaging and thought provoking, but was also immensely useable from day one, as this book. It’s worth every cent. I refer to it often throughout my work as a counsellor. Highly recommended.

Exactly what I was looking for! “Skills not pills” should be the mantra of the modern age :)
The combination of traditional Buddhist insights with modern psychology evidence and process. This book shows that the integration of these can be achieved and through the framework of the 8 fold path this book shows how to lead a more fulfilling life In tune with reality.I am hoping the next book adds to this with other psychological approaches like DBT.
