Prior Teavana Employee That Missed This Sugar for Years
This sugar is like Magic for tea. I didn't know anything about tea until I started working at Teavana when I was 19. The sugar we used for our tea was this exact same brand, and after I left I thought I'd never see it again since Teavana was shut down shortly after. But to find it on Amazon was such a blessing! When I was a Teavana barista I made tea blends that tasted like chocolate milk, apple pie, Pina colada, fruit punch, blueberry muffins, lemon loaf, and the secret ingredient was always this sugar. This This beet root sugar doesn't layer itself onto the flavors in your tea blend. Compare it to a parfait and a smoothie. One is layered with yogurt, fruit, granola, and honey. The other is all of that but blended together. Both are two taste experiences that are distinctively different from each other. Regular white sugar, Stevia, sweet and low, etc, layers onto the flavors in your tea like a parfait. You end up tasting the tea AND the sugar, instead of JUST the tea. This beetroot sugar blends with the tea like a smoothie, while boosting the flavors of the blend of tea leaves. Therefore, if you use this sugar you can use LESS tea leaves and still get a decent flavor strength. This is the best sugar I have ever used for tea, and you will love it too. By the way, if you have a Breville teamaker just put the beet root sugar rocks in the basket first, then your leaves. The heat of the water will melt the rocks and allow your leaves to rise and expand normally. If you place the rocks into the basket after your leaves then their weight will prevent your leaves from rising and expanding for full flavor until the rocks dissolve. Sometimes the beet root sugar rocks don't dissolve entirely when they are placed after the leaves so just place them first to avoid this minor issue.

Perfect, sweet, good value
For everyone asking, these are identical in size, colour, flavour, and composition to the ones that Teavana used to sell. The Spice Lab’s offering are actually a better value, too — especially if you purchase the five pound bag! The *only* complaint I might have (and even this is minor and nitpicky of me) is that the smaller bags were, in my experience, difficult to reseal. The five pound bags reseal great, however, and it was easy enough to move the smaller amount into another sealed container. (Such as all these Teavana jars that line my counter…) I cannot more strongly recommend this product! It makes an amazing addition to hot or iced tea, as well as coffee. Although, I wouldn’t recommend it stronger coffees, as it’s subtle flavour can easily be overpowered — and, even then, it’s still a great sweetener, but it really shines in tea.

WOW!
The sugar arrived today. I intend to use it in my coffee. Since I already had my coffee this morning, I tasted a small piece. Instant heaven! (Can you tell I have a sweet tooth?) It tastes like exotic candy. I've had the piece in my mouth for several minutes; it hasn't dissolved yet. It would probably require very hot tea or coffee to dissolve, which is OK. Even when I opened the bag, I was greeted with an incredible flower-like aroma. I thought the Teavana brand was pretty good, but after I tasted this, I was glad Teavana's price went up outrageously; that's what made me shop around. This sugar is better. TIP: The first time I used this sugar in my coffee, I added the sugar to the empty cup. The coffee came out with very little sweetness at the top & too much sweetness at the bottom of the cup because the sugar did not dissolve quickly enough. The second time I made coffee, I put the sugar ON TOP of the coffee grounds & it came out perfect - even sweetening. If I were a tea drinker, I'd first dissolve the sugar in a small amount of hot water, then add the tea & more hot water after the sugar dissolved.

Belguim Beet Sugar Rocks
Ok,I am correcting my previous statement after receiving a response from seller. If you buy the 5lb bag the sugars don't look the same until scoop a few & place them in water. Hopefully the seller will mention this in the description, because I was shocked. Best healthy beat sugar ever. The rock sugar is good. I use a tsp of them in my morning tea. It seems to taste better than honey added to tea. I will post a few pics.

Absolutely amazing rock sugar
This is excellent rock sugar that can be used for hot beverages like teas or coffees. We use it in ferments and pickling recipes. We use it for brines that require a tad bit of sweetness to tame the tartness of vinegars or salts. It does add rich coloring to the brines. The sugar rocks vary in size and dissolve completely.

Fantastic!
This is the best tasting sugar I have tried. You get nice sized chunks. My tea wouldn’t be the same without it!
