Medea rocks the Argonauts
This 23rd book of the Goddess Girls series differs a little bit from the other books. It is not a story about goddesses, buta retelling of the Argonauts. While Cassandra the Lucky had a little retelling of the Odyssey and Pallas the Pal someelements from the Iliad, this one deals completely with the myth of Jason, Medea and the Argonauts. This book hasonly a few references to earlier books, only the necessary ones for the myth. So you needn't have to read the other books for it,it works as a standalone. This is a great book about friendship, first crushing and family! Medea is a strong character and I likedto accompany her to MOA, the voyager and her school, a Greek Hogwarts. Because I have already read the original Argonautika by Apollonius,it was fun to see how the authors included the adventures. Some twists were very funny! Although the references to the original myth thinnend out in the end, this was a believeable, innovative end for the myth. Usually, all retellings of the Argonauts are difficult: In some books Medea is too evil, in some other books Medea is too sweet and innocent. Here we have a young enchantress and teenager struggling with responsibilities and emotions, but finding her true home and herself in the end. Highly recommended for everyone who wants to give Medea a chance to prove herself!

Another Great Read!
Like always, Goddess Girls never fail to disappoint, with the bright adventures and kind characters. This story is basically Jason and the Argonuats, but told from Medea's point of view, with a teenager twist, turning it into a wonderful read.
