I have a broken neck (my C1 and C2) and have been in a hard neck brace for 7 months. I just got permission to move to a “soft” brace, but I still have a broken neck, so it has to be a sturdy soft brace. That’s where I’m coming from. I ordered 3 different braces so I could try them out because you cannot tell from the descriptions which ones are what I would call a “real” brace. Nobody on here mentions a broken neck. It’s like the three bears. One collar was too soft (the Velpeau), one collar was too big (the Nimood) and one was just right (Cozy Health). The literature inside the box shows that the Valpeau is not meant for medical problems, but the description on here does not mention this. Like most of the neck braces on here, they only offer medium or large size, so I ordered a medium. I have a short neck (but rather stout for being 5’ tall). This was one of the very few braces that are 3" tall so it fit under my neck very well. If you can easily tuck your neck into the bottom of the brace and you can't get it tight enough to prevent that, the brace is not holding your neck straight and it is too tall. The Velpeau is very comfortable, but does not offer much support. If you have a serious neck problem, this is not the brace for you, but it is probably great for sitting on a plane. There were very few critical reviews but of them, the most frequently mentioned complaint was that it was too large for their short neck. However, most of the braces on here are 3.5 inches and this is one of the few that is 3" tall. This is as good as it gets.

I have four of these braces. Over 20 years of neck pain, I have purchased or been prescribed more than a dozen different neck braces. For general wear, this is the one I now always wear. When neck discomfort requires me to wear it outside the house, I find that the black one (they offer various color choices) makes me less self-conscious and during colder months, unnoticeable. On cold fall or winter days it has the added bonus of keeping my neck warm. It is easy to hand wash and air dry, and holds up surprisingly well, literally for years. It is flexible and soft enough that I feel it is safe to wear even when sleeping. I keep looking but have not found one better.

This neck brace is very soft and comfortable, making it perfect for my needs. I don’t use it for sleeping but for flights, and it works better than any travel pillow I’ve tried. It provides great support without being too restrictive, allowing me to rest comfortably during long journeys. Highly recommend it for travel or anyone looking for neck support on the go! Pros: Soft and comfortable material. Great for flights and travel. Better support than a standard travel pillow. Cons: None so far for my specific use. Would absolutely recommend it to frequent travelers!

Bought this as a friend recommended it, saying it was very soft. It was horribly scratchy and uncomfortable. Returned it.

This product gives just the right support to ease neck pain. I used on a plane instead of one of those u shaped pillows. This was much better, not as bulky. I also used while on safari in Kenya and it protected my neck from all the bumps.
