I gave this a 4 because it overheats the wax. I have made several candles from the kit. No one can smell the scents they include. Now to learn to make candles it's great, But be prepared to have to update your heat source and the scents. Also the candles are a free advertisement for them as the lids has their name on it. (a common practice ) To learn on it is great just be prepared to spend more to make it your own product.

The instructions lack any measurements. There are 16 candle tins but nowhere does it indicate the capacity of the tin or how much wax to melt per tin. I've made candles before (and I'm a soap maker); it is normal to weigh the wax on a scale for a precise measure. This insures that you don't underpour or overpour in a tin and can be confident that you are using just the right amount of wax to fill exactly 16 tins. It would have been helpful to indicate these details. Other than that annoyance, it appears to be a kit with the supplies needed to get started.

Love the kit but wish it had pour spout for more accurate and less mess pouring.

Gives you everything you need to make your own candles. I would say the candles do not give off as strong of a smell, but I think this is a great activity nonetheless.
