Are these Pirated or what?
There is something iffy about these DVD's. I am suspicious they are pirated. The quality of the package printing is not good, it looks like it has been printed from a scan of an original. Just like the pirated VHS videos used to be. The quality of the playback video is also poor, looking like they have been duplicated with less than top quality equipment, or recorded from a screen. Just about VHS quality I would say. Two of the movies are on double sided discs but on the back of the package it says they are dual layer. If you look up dual layer on the internet it means that both layers are on the same side and the laser in your dvd player refocuses on to the second layer when it is necessary. Not this turning over of discs jiggery pokery. Something very iffy I think.

All 3 movies are quite compelling in different ways
A sterling part is played by the young boy in The Client as well as the usual top class performances you would expect from Tommy Lee Jones and Susan SarandonMy sister-in-law and I have not seen a dud Denzel Washington movie and The Pelican Brief shows off his remarkable talent yet again. Julia Roberts also puts up a great performance as the originator of "the brief" which only causes high government authorities to want her dead.Matthew McConaughey and Samuel Jackson play the pivotal roles in this tense drama primarily concerning Samuel's vigilante action against his daughters rapists. It also highlights the racial tension in this small southern town.

Excellent choice and very good value
I had read all three of these John Grisham books, and the films were almost as good. Tommy Lee Jones is a superb actor, and the clash between him and Susan Sarandon gave an interesting edge to the plot. One of the best performances was by the children's mother who tried hard to do the best for her children. The Pelican Brief was also very good, and highlighted the hidden agendas played out in high places and political intrigue masking the truth. The last film touched on sensitive issues of race and colour, and deep seated prejudice prevalent in parts of the USA. Of all three films, this was probably the best as it had more depth and twists, with a star cast.

Enjoy the John Grisham books and these films are well ...
Enjoy the John Grisham books and these films are well made and faithful to the original text. Very enjoyable and a great price for the three.Note: if you purchase : check all films (the first few mins should be enough) to see that you do not have a subtitled version. I did, on A Time to Kill. Contacted Amazon and film was exchanged with minimum fuss.

Great value but beware duel sided DVDs
Fantastic value tripple film pack. Three of my favourite legal based thrillers. All very different films, but the writing and acting is brilliant throughout. If you enjoy courtroom drama and twist and turn thrillers then these are for you. Typical Warner Brothers though not giving the paying public any more than they have to. I say this as two of the DVDs are duel sided so you must turn over when prompted. Some people will find this annoying. It's cheap from Warner's, but not unexpected if you know their attitudes to dvd production.
