I've been doing a LOT of prototyping on solderless breadboards and using simple SMD to DIP adapters. But many of the ICs require several caps and resistors to perform as desired. Throughhole electrolytic caps are NOT substitutes for SMD MLCC caps. They are COMPLETELY different animals. It took me DAYS of studying, testing and diving into the world of MLCC capacitor DC Bias to understand THAT. Throughhole resistors are much noisier, use up too many holes on the breadboard, risk making contact with other TH components, and often DON'T make contact well enough in the solderless breadboard to prototype rapidly and reliably. These unique adapters are absolutely PERFECT when I'm working with linear regulators and such, so the prototyping most accurately reflects the performance that the assembled PCB will have, and the analysis with oscilloscope and circuit outcome is more reliable. These boards are pricey, but absolutely worth it to have on hand. Get all 3 versions so when your need changes, you don't wait on shipping. Don't forget to get a wide range of SMD caps and resistors to have as well. They are CHEAP, and will be what gets assembled on the board anyhow. 50 in tape form is a great low cost price break point on Digikey. And since that shipping bites a bit, order the large variety at one go. Also consider an Aidetek BoxAll SMD organizer. Between these types of boards, the Digikey SMD passives and the organizer, you'll feel like a pro and be well organized.

This little PCB break out works great with my AtTin785 chips. Working with these makes life so much easier for me during the design and the test phase in my electronic projects. These are also well built parts with high quality components. Soldering to the tabs is a breeze as the solder attached to the metal without any flux. I love these and plan to buy more after I run out.

A little pricey, but they earned it with a really easy-to-use design. Really nice not to clutter a prototyping board with the capacitors often needed.
