One of the best all purpose USB C cables you can get.
This Satechi USB4 Pro cable has all the specs that USB4 requires in order to get that USB certified label which it does right on the box which gives me a piece of mind towards my purchase. The cable is fast in terms of transferring data and charged my iPhone 15 Pro Max as fast as apple allows it with a 35w PD charger. The cost won’t break the bank for all its features, braiding is solid and just all around a well built cable that performs like it won’t fail on you. 👍✌️

This USB 4.0 Cable is of the very best; cutting-edge technology (USB4 - PD Revision 3.1 240W Power, 40Gbps Data Transfer Speed, 8K@60Hz Display Output) - not a single of this Cable’s specifications is behind the best that is only available… Unless one needs a longer cable (if there is any longer which manages to output the same at all), for now, this is almost as good as is only available (some cables of identical specifications also feature a built-in Power Meter and provide a much better warranty).PRODUCT: USB CABLE: for POWER + DATA + A/V: USB-C MALE to USB-C MALE: USB 4.0: PD 3.1 240W + 40Gbps + 8K@60Hz.[Review Date: 2023.09]BRAND: Satechi.MODEL: ST-YU4120M.PROS (+) and CONS (-):* Plugs’ Connectors: USB-C MALE to USB-C MALE.* Cable Length: 3.9ft = 1.2m.* Color: Black.+ USB Charging Technology: USB-IF PD (‘Power Delivery’): the best available?:+ Revision: PD Revision 3.1?: Yes.+ Power: EPR (‘Extended Power Range’): (5A x 48V =) 240W(Max)?: Yes.+ USB Data Transfer Speed: the best available?:+ 40Gbps (Max)?: Yes.+ USB Audio/Video: the best available?:+ Display Output Resolution (Max): 7,680 x 4,320: 8K@60Hz Display / 4K@120Hz / Dual 4K@60Hz Displays: Yes.- USB Power Meter (LCD Display Built-In the Shell of the Plug Displaying real-time Power, in Watts)?: No.+ Build Quality and Durability: Excellent!:+ Cable: Heavy-Duty: Thick and Strong?: Yes.+ Cable's Sleeve: Braided Fabric Jacket (as opposed to rubber or plastic which are prone to cracking and peeling)?: Yes.+ Connectors' Shells (Plugs): Metal?: Yes.+ Strain-relief at the Cable's intersections with the Connectors' Shells?: Yes.+ Certification: USB-IF Certified?: Yes.+ Use Comfort: Informatively Marked for:+ Power Capacity?: Yes, “240W”+ Data Transfer Speed?: Yes, 40Gbps”~ Warranty:~ GLOBAL (Valid worldwide when traveling; not only in the country of purchase)? Close to Thunderbolt 4 specs
(Item: Satechi USB 4 Pro Cable, USB-IF Certified, 240W Power Delivery, 8K@60Hz/ 4K@120Hz Single or 4K@60Hz Dual Display, 40Gbps Data Transfer, Downward Compatible to 2.0 USB-C Devices (4 FT) / $26 at the time of the review)There is currently so much consumer confusion between Thunderbolt technology and USB Type-C cables. Some cables offer faster data transfer, some offer higher charging rates, and some offer both - though not all cables are actually required to offer both. And, the different monikers (USB 2.0, USB 3.0, USB 3.1, USB 3.2, etc) are making things even more confusing. Going forward, things will be simplified with two main USB-C competitors: Thunderbolt 4 and USB4.Both USB4 and Thunderbolt 4 are excellent cables/platforms which offer similar feature sets. But with USB4, manufacturers have the option to exclude certain features while still marketing it as USB4. In contrast, Thunderbolt 4 manufacturers have much stricter guidelines.Thunderbolt 4 minimum requirements include the following:• 40Gbps bidirectional bandwidth for data transfer• Support for 40Gbps speeds over 2 meters• PD (Power Delivery) of 100W• Link speed minimum of 32Gbps• PCIe support of 32Gb/s• Minimum power output of 15W• Minimum video requirement of dual 4K@60HZ displays or, a single 8K display• DMA (Direct Memory Access) protectionIn comparison, USB4 minimum requirements include the following:• 20Gbps (40Gbps is optional) data transfer• Support for 40Gbps speeds over 1 meters (reduction to 20Gbps for cables 2 meters or longer)• PD (Power Delivery) of (up to)100W• Link speed minimum of 20Gbps• PCIe support (Optional)• Minimum power output of 7.5W• Minimum video requirement of a single 4K@60HZ display or, a single 8K displayHaving noted those details, the USB4 specs for this cable are fairly close to those of Thunderbolt 4. The Link speed and PCIe support weren’t listed so, I’ll have to do a little more homework/testing. But I wouldn’t be surprised if those specs are similar. Regardless, the 240W Power Delivery, 40Gbps data transfer and 8K/4K monitor support is there. And those are the heavy hitters. Plus 4ft is a great cable length to work with. This is an excellent offering from a respected company and an easy recommendation for consideration.

meets specs, but so do some at half the price
I own a few Satechi products. I'm fond of a couple of them. But they have a long and storied history of every product costing 20% more than it should. It's like the Apple effect, except they think it should apply to them too because they sell products for Apple products. This cable performs to the listed specs. It's well made and durable. It's also $30. I have well made, durable USB4 cables that perform to spec that cost $16 and $20 as well. I was tempted to make this 3 stars, I'm that bothered by the price, but I'll settle for making it 4 and telling you the reader to shop around
