Great hard hat comfortable really good quality would recommend to anyone looking for a hard hat well worth the money

This looks and feels like a decent safety helmet. The helmet has the GuardLead logo in white on the front. Be aware, that there are two versions available - One with a clear visor and one without. This review is for the helmet WITHOUT the visor. On the back, there is a large section for venting. You can choose to have this open or closed by sliding a section of the helmet upwards or downwards. It’s a little tricky to do. You almost need to slide it with a bit more force than anticipated. Once you suss out how to do it, the sliding section locks in place with a very defined click. When open, there are six vents exposed that allow airflow into the helmet.When you put the helmet on, it sits up quite high on your head. Your head is held into place with the head support straps. There is also a standard tightening knob on the back, that you can twist to tighten the helmet around your head. The adjustable size goes from 21 to 25 inches and fits sizes 6 1/2 to 8 heads. Around the chin, the helmet is fastened with a quick release clip. This is designed to break away if the strap is put under too much pressure and this will protect you from strangulation. Unfortunately, there is no chin padding around the strap. The strap isn’t that wide, so this may start to irritate after prolonged use. The strap that rests on the forehead is lightly padded though, which is good. I would have liked to see, at least, this repeated for the chin.The bright orange colour of the helmet makes it easy to see when working on site. Clearly, this is an additional safety feature. The helmet complies with all EU safety protocols, so no need to worry about it ticking all of the correct boxes. There are side slots for mounting a headlamp, face shield or ear defenders. The ABS plastic feels strong and the helmet is manufactured to withstand high impact and penetration. Despite the strenght, it doesn’t feel overy heavy and is comfortable to wear. Happy to recommend, but loses a star for the thinness of the straps and lack of padding on the chin.

Comfortable and the straps work great. Wear it on my cycle to work as well as at work. Can't fault it.

Not the best helmet I’ve ever bought I went back to a v-guard after two weeks

Got this helmet to use on my volunteer search and rescue team, and it generally fits the bill nicely. It is good quality and comfortable with the associated certifications needed. I’m not really of need of the visor though, and I wish that was removable without tools. I also have a headlamp that I’d like to be able to mount around the helmet, but the visor gets in the way of that, plus there are no clips or tracks for that strap to fit in so it just slides off.For what it is, I’m satisfied, but there are definitely better helmets out there feature wise (although at a much higher price).

Can't really fault this helmet, it incorporates all the features you could expect and then adds a few more, back in the day a safety helmet was just that, a helmet with a chinstrap. This one contains sliding shuttered ventilation holes, six point suspension, adjustment knob, attachments for headlamps and slots for ear muffs, it's a bit much to take in and a lot of it is probably not necessary for the average DIYer at home.The item arrives in a branded box, which was an unexpected surprise but it makes this item suitable for gifting if that's your intention.I ordered this product hopefully in order to prevent bashing my head on the low beams whilst working in my loft, although it arrived a week or two too late to prevent the clonks it's had already, at least now i can hopefully prevent any more, externally it appears to be well manufactured of hard ABS plastic.The helmet fit as intended and is easily adjustable both on the chinstrap and via the ratcheted knob at the back of the helmet, resulting in a nice comfortable fit, the inner suspension creates a nice distance between the outer shell and you head, in order to absorb shocks.Recommended
