Q: Does this "show" after being painted, like the quick-shot stuff does?

not if you let it dry and sand it properly. make sure you make it as smooth and even as possible when applying. After sanding, and painting it is not visible.

Q: can this able to use hand to put on the surface or have to use tools ?

Depending on size of the job or how often you want to add the products, you could use your hand. If it's a big job, I would suggest using a tool, but I have always used my fingers to apply this product. The biggest job I have used it on required have required me to apply numerous coats, as without a tool, you will not be able to get a smooth lay of the product with your hands or fingers. Since I'm using for personal use at home, I don't mind if my job takes a week or so, without multiple applications. For example, to repair a hole in the wall, from a door stop plate I pulled off, the plates adhesive took off a good chunk of the wall off, a little more than a quarter inch deep and about the size of my hand. I applied drydex a bit at a time, to get nice thin smooth layers. After about 10-12 applications over a week or so, I had a slight mound over the area, at which time I was ready to sand it level. It was perfectly smooth and level, at which time I painted it with 2 layers. Another reason I don't like to use big chunks at a time, with tools, you will not be able to fill in all the nooks and crannies of your hole with a putty knife, unless you go slowly and work it in. Even then, when you use a lot of drydex, expect it to shrink as it dries. This might cause you to have to add more with a 2nd coat or just add a good mount, where you can just sand it down to be level.

Q: How much coverage will I get from this size?

I was able to spakle 4 holes plugs that were 6" diameter using about 1/8" of the tub. Including 3 applications for finishing and sanding.

Q: Trying to cover styrofoam diorama with this, can it be made watery to go on smoother or is this clumpy

I don't know how watery it will get, but adding water does smooth it out. A lot!

Easy to use

I had 2 spots both 20 inch by 20 inch and I had to use both containers with maybe 1/2 cup left the smell was very strong until it dried which was quick about an hour and the smell went away.

Great spackle

I am a lady with no experience in using spakling. There were small holes and scrapes in my walls that were unsightly and I went by the 'easy to read' directions and fixed the places! Pleasantly surprised how great it turned out! Would definitely recommend!

Feels solid.

Dried harder than drywall spackle. Haven’t painted on it yet but seems good.I was hoping to fix some termite damage on interior door but had to do three coats as I couldn’t get it to hold great on a slightly thicker first coat and the door being vertical. Challenge to get it on super smooth so will have to over apply a bit and then sand down.
