Chester Keene Cracks the Code

I love it. It is the story of the year! It’s very interesting and beautiful and surprising with a lot of shocking moments

This middle grade novel is for those who like a bit of adventure and mystery. Chester loves routines and observing the world around him. He has dreams of one day being a spy. When a scavenger hunt brings him a new friend, he learns even more is going on with his life and he’s not so sure he likes it.

An amazing mystery with a huge heart! Kevlar Magoon does it again. Come for the mystery and stay for the characters.

Sweet mystery. We need more middle grade mysteries. Chester misses a dad he never really knew. He comes to appreciate his mom and his new friend Skye. Along the way he solves a robbery and stands up to a bully.

Got this book for my 9 year old daughter because she had to read it for a book report and was very surprised how many times throughout the book they sexualize the female body in very obvious was. Not happy about it, she didn’t finish it for that reason and we honestly threw it away.

Points for trying but between the manic pixie dream girl and the no mention of race biracial boy with an absent father issue + barely comprehensible plot this book is kind of weird/silly/awkward.
