Read this book while on vacation and couldn't put it down. The case files and perspective from a kidnap for ran some negotiator were woven really well into its applicability into the business world.

I loved the art of negiiatioations in every situation. Be it personal or professional. It really enlightened me and changed a lot in me. While I see great relationship buildup in both sides of life.

Scott has written a book about negotiation that has a wealth of insights. I’m sure I’m going to re-read it many times, as it feels like it will keep on giving.Moreover, his example and explanations are readily accessible. He does not promise a secret sauce, nor pretending it exists. What he cares is to show what is important, present it in a way that is easy to understand without losing details that matters.I highly, very highly, recommend it.

Scott Walker has written, based upon his extensive experiences as a hostage and business negotiator, an excellent guide to negotiation psychology and its applications in hostage negotiations, business negotiations, and everyday life. The book is well-grounded in a readable combination of practical tools and the latest science of neuropsychology. There are many pearls therein for both novice and expert. He stresses the importance of emotional regulation, as many difficult negotiations involve dealing with people who are themselves emotionally dysregulated or highly stressed. The notes have a solid selection of readings in psychology, and the section on further reading is very applicable to hostage negotiations.
