Works for head lice
My 3 year old came home from daycare with lice. Since I didn't see anyone post online about how to use straight up dimethicone, this is what my family did (and it worked!) 1) We bought this thing (dimethicone) and the Nit-Free terminator comb - so like $35 altogether 2) There's scientific papers you can read on dimethicone efficacy but it looks like the effective range is 4-100% so it's a super huge range. I shrugged and decided why not 20%, so I diluted 30 mls of dimethicone in 120 mls of olive oil. (for measurement, a medicine cup like the kind that is included with dayquil usually has a marker for 30 mls and a kitchen measuring cup can usually measure 120 mls). For funsies I put in a few drops of eucalyptus oil and tea tree oil just so it wouldn't smell like olive oil, but that's not necessary. 3) After that we sat the whole family down on our 3-year-old's easy to clean plastic high chair with lots of towels laid out to catch drips, and slathered everyone's head with the dimethicone/olive oil mixture. Waited 15 mins, then combed everyone's hair out with the nit comb. Be warned: the space between the prongs of the nit comb are really tight. For long-haired people, you do need to pre-comb with a normal comb just to get the strands to be going the same direction. Adults and older children with thicker hair will have more trouble. Keep some paper towels handy to wipe the nit comb so you can check to see if there's still lice in the section you're working on. This part's pretty satisfying if you're combing out patient zero and there's a lot of dead lice and eggs coming out. There's videos on youtube that show you how to do this. 4) Once everyone's head was combed, it was time to hit the showers with some dish soap. Yup. Just take a pump of shampoo and add a squirt of dish soap to it to get all the dimethicone/olive oil out. Condition as usual. We spot-checked every 2-3 days but did not see any more lice. We also repeated the entire treatment at 10 days after initial treatment (b/c that's how long it would take eggs to hatch if you missed any eggs) but again, did not find any more lice. We're now about 25 days out from when I first noticed lice and I'm pretty confident that we're lice-free. So yep. $35 bucks to treat the whole family and we have so much dimethicone left over that if anyone catches another round of head lice, I won't even worry about it. Cheers

Works
I wish I never had to use this 🫣. I got head lice and have no idea where I got it but I suspect the doctors office. 😡 I tried Rid 4 times and was following the instructions. It just wouldn't kill the lice. I saw a TikTok video about using this product. The first treatment I saturated my head and put a plastic bag over my hair for 3 hours. I then use a nit comb extensively. I read someone else said to leave it in your hair overnight and to just put enough in that it dries in your hair. So I did that also a few times. I think I've finally conquered the beasts. I will continue to use it in my hair for long time to make sure. But after more research I learned it is very good for your scalp and can help regrow hair. My hair was very dry from dyeing it and in just 10 days my hair is so much better and I swear I can feel new hair poking up. My hair actually had a bit of shine to it now. I hope I never have to go through this issue again. 😩

Excellent stuff, gets rid of lice and dry scalp
Got it for a 9 year old, and it protects against lice if you mix it with shampoo. And it seems to get rid of any lice also. Also makes hair shiny, and takes care of dry scalp. Did the same for my wife.

Works great for lice!
Great product for lice removal! It’s very thick and hard to wash out of the hair but we’d buy it again not to have lice.

Good volume and product
The product works well, has a good volume for my needs, and has a sturdy transparent container (so it's easy to see how much is left).

It added staying power to my blend.
Added this to some homemade personal massage oil, and it slicked it right up. Last a long time too. 1 part of this to 4 parts fractionated coconut oil, 4 parts massage oil base, and 1 part Jojoba oil, add any fragrance you want and your good to go.

A must have for a household with children
My daughter had caught lice in school and we just couldn't get them to stay away. I used this product in her hair ONCE and everything died. Lice can breathe for 8 hours when wet. This kills them INSTANTLY. Keep a bottle in your medicine cabinet if you have school aged children! I promise you won't regret it!

This is the most effective treatment for lice. Just apply it on the scalp and make sure you cover the scalp and all hair with a generous amount. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then brush out the dead lice. Wash it out and then repeat after 10 days. It worked for us first time. I can't recommend it enough!

Haven't tried it yet, but I plan to dilute it to do some lice treatment.. issue- there is some typos on the label: "in case of ang allergies"
