Makes the Capture Clip even better.
Why did Amazon ask me to rate this on warmth, comfort, and thickness? Uhm....you know what, let's have fun with this. It's a lovely, warm, dark grey fabric. It feels really comfortable in the hand, not like it belongs there because it belongs on your belt, or your backpack strap or whatnot, but when I'm sliding my belt through it to get ready to carry my DSLR around at the ready..... goodness is it comfortable. Whatever they put in the back to stiffen it up has a perfect thickness to stiffen it. Ok that was fun but; The Capture Clip is like, like what I've always been waiting for, but never knew I needed it until I got one. Of course mounting it to your belt, sideways, is freaking super annoying. Drawing your camera one handed, awful. Putting the camera back o your belt sideways, awful. Having a reasonably weighty camera attached to the Capture Clip on a backpack strap, not bad really. Put the Pro Pad on there......that thick, warm, comfortable Pro Pad, well look out world. It does the following amazing things; Drops your camera down a little lower off of your belt. Now I can actually wear a flannel or other shirt and easily access my camera. Nothing is cooler than an aging hipster who can draw his DSLR the fastest during a high noon landscape shoot. Allows for real, easy, one handed access off of your hip. Now the quick release pin is right where my pinky wants to go. My eye says "wow, this could be a reat photo" and somehow my camera is just in my hands. Then when I'm done, it just slides straight down into the clip. Doing this all sideways is a stellar pain the tuckus. Adds firmness with its 5 star thickness to any mounting situation. Like let's say you pop the Capture Clip onto the shoulder strap of your goofy old Domke J-bag because you want to relive your glory days of backpacking overseas. You try to tug your camera out of the clip and the clip wiggles a bit, flexes the strap and whatnot. Pro Pad + thickness + stiffness = comfort and warmth at 5 star levels. tldr: if you're gonna hang your camera on your hip, get this. Gonna put it anywhere else, you might not need it.

Works great on a belt!
This pad works well with the capture clip and facilitates using the clip on a belt. Highly recommended if you intend to use the clip on a belt.

An awesome alternative to an uncomfortable neck strap.
This review is for both the pro pad as well as the capture clip v.3 because honestly, they’re a match made in heaven. I purchased both for a week-long trip to Rome where I was going to be carrying my 5D MK3 with a 50mm prime lens. I already own a 30l Peak backpack and wrist strap, and love both the functional design and aesthetics of their products. These two are no different. I wore both in my belt all day for every day were were there, touring sites for 10+ hours each day. It was really nice to have the camera at the ready on my belt. Often I wore the wrist strap while it was clipped in, just for extra security. The camera didn’t swing or move much at all, and the locking function works great too. Overall it’s a great alternative to a neck strap. Another high quality product from Peak Design.

Amazing, Peak Design amazes me!
Peak Design, as always, beautiful. They really think of everything. I bought this thinking maybe it would be a nice piece of fold-over fabric, but no, it's got great fabric wrapped around a sturdy piece of rigid material that not only acts as great support, but is very comfortable. On top of that, the flap against your leg is wider so the screws don't ever cause discomfort. Which, is huge because I had worries about that. The stitching is perfect, I don't know how to describe stitching, but I can tell it isn't going to fray or snap on me anytime soon. PD could have come up with a quick piece of material to throw into their accessory pile while laughing all the way to the bank as people buy a junk product, but it's obvious that they put some solid effort into the design.

Very nice quality great product
Very nice quality and a great product very happy that I purchased it and it works well. The only reason I gave it four stars is I wish that he was just a touch bigger so it could fit around even thicker belts and or backpack straps. But even so this is a good company that produces some really good stuff

Most comfortable way to carry a camera
I have tried out various straps and slings to hold my camera in the past 2 years of getting into the hobby and I hated them all. The camera was always dangling in a a way that I was uncomfortable with and straps/quick-release-mechanisms always got in the way with how I held the camera. I hate backpacks and love smaller sling bags which are not conducive to the capture clip. But I do like belts. With this capture pad I finally feel free. With smaller lenses I even forget I am wearing it. Earlier today I even thought I had almost dropped my camera as I removed my hand from my pocket as it just felt too light after walking with it for an hour. It is still comfortable with my largest lenses (ef-s 55-250 and ef-s 18-135mm for reference). I like to wear it slightly overlapping my front right pocket. As someone who is a little on the heavier side I actually find it more comfortable lowering the clip to a lower point on the pro pad. This allows for a more comfortable experience when sitting. Ive been wearing it practically daily even if I don't bring my camera with me just to increase the likely hood that I bring my camera along for pictures. At first I found it slightly uncomfortable as my arm would rub against the firm material when sitting. It can also make it harder to access my right pocket depending on the jeans or shorts (especially when sitting). But after a few days I forgot it was there. Despite these minor annoyances I would still chose this method over a strap any day. It is the perfect carry method for me as a person who hates the feels of all other alternatives.

Excellent for use with PD clip and a belt
Works perfect. When you use the thumb screws and flaps correctly it is very solid. Especially if you have your belt tight. Good length and comfortable even when sitting.

No support with the order. This makes it simply useless.

I feel that the Pro Pad makes the Peak Design Capture Clip so much more comfortable to wear! The clip alone sits too close to my waist and the camera isn't located where I want it to be. With the Pro Pad, everything just hangs a little better making it a must have!

Parfait support de ceinture, sac, sac à dos pour l'attache Capture V3. Très bon système de portage léger, polyvalent et confortable. Voir mes remarques sur la v3 qui nécessite des adaptations avec les Arca Swiss déjà possédées.
