Powerbar - Energize Original - Chocolate - 15x55g - High Carb Energy Bar - Magnesium&Sodium

I always loved powerbars but I must say that this banana taste bar is one of the best from their options. Obviously everybody has a different taste but...Furthermore, and most importantly, whether it is a placebo effect or not, I feel it gives me the extra energy during my rides I need. Plus using their after ride, protein bars too, I feel that I do not have such an urge to eat other carbohydrites so it is good for my overall diet too.The only thing I'd comment on as negative is the difficulties of opening the bar while riding. It is essentially close to impossible to cleanly peal the packing off. Firstly, the bar gets soft, especially during the summer months, so much that it even melts down (the bulk of the mass of it gravitates down towards one side of the packinging), especially if put, vertically, in my jersey pocket. Then, secondly, while trying to open it, one needs both hands to do it (not to tear it appart having half of the bar mass in the packaging corners impossible to suck, bit, get out) and thirdly, the two hands should not be, for an experience rider, such a problem but even then it is quite fiddly and one has to realy fokus on the packaging which with the current state of the roads in the UK became life threatening...Powerbar should look into this

I love the flavour of these and have purchased a couple of times now as they are great for when I do any long runs. Did my first marathon this year and had one on the way round to nibble on and felt it gave me energy when I needed it… was a real boost. I do not like gels so for me it was good to have on me and kept me going.

These bars taste very nice and certainly pack a lot of energy.However I would say they are not great for cycling as the packaging is very hard to remove and sticks to the bar, so you would not want to be trying to eat one of these while cycling in a group unless your happy to stop when you want one.

I have enjoyed these power bars for many years but that was spoilt in this mosr recent consignment when I bit upon a jagged bit of metal that had somehiow found it;'s way into the first bar I ate. NOt what I expected!
