Absolutely brilliant and an amazing product!
Used right this product is truly amazing.. the picture taken is of my mums drive that is over 25 years old and with the block paving sealant over the top this is absolutely brilliant... the sand sets on impact of water.. I used a water pump to lightly spray between the joints and left it over night to set and it did just that.. the hard work is in making sure you sweep into all of the joints and remove all signs of excess sand.. that took ages but the end finish is amazing!Sceptical about the cost initially but trust me it is worth every penny.. have had it down a few months and no sign of any weeds..

Good so far. Only time will tell if it stops weeds.
I've used this to fill between block paving, previously only filled with kiln dried sand. Do not underestimate the time and effort required in preparation to remove the weeds, moss and old sand. This is my second order and I will need more. My first 2 bags arrived as usual/ expected. I am still waiting for my 3rd. First the carrier left a failed delivery card at the wrong address. I ended up calling them and received assurance that delivery would be the following day. Have received 2 further texts advising that the delivery could not be completed. Am hoping that it will arrive on Monday.

Patchy
I initially jet washed my block paved drive and sprayed areas that suffer from minor weeds.Having heard that some previous reviewers said there had been slight discolouration from the sand, I decided to give the paving a coat of sealant prior to applying the Silca Sand.I applied the product by brushing into the gaps with a soft broom. In awkward areas I used a hand brush. This worked well.I then decided to use a hand pumped spray to wet the joints as the drive is on a slope and I didn’t want the sand to wash out.I then left to dry for 24 hours, before giving a further 2 coats of sealant. The majority of joints have hardened well but there have also been areas where the sand has not set and I will need to re sand.

Just like 'block paving sand'... sets solid...mostly stays put with pressure washing
I've used standard kiln dried block paving sand from Wickes for years on our block paved drive, but the weeds come through and it comes out. I've used Sika 'Wide Jointing Compound' on our flagged patio and found it quite good, but its too coarse for the fine joints of block paving. Thought I'd try this for the narrow joints in the block paving and its excellent. It is very fine and dry and brushes in nicely. It does leave a fine yellow dust on the surface of the pavers when brushed on, but this dust washes off when you wet it, which you have to do to get it to set, so don't worry, the pavers won't be stained. 20kg does not go very far if the joints are properly cleaned out and then filled. Sets in about 24hrs and seems very firm rather than rock solid, but infinitely more solid than plain sand. Dries slightly grey compared to the yellow of standard paving sand, but this looks better in my opinion.UPDATE ONE YEAR ON...Just done the first jet wash on a block paved drive after I used this product last year. It has discoloured over the year, just like sand would. Some of it came out with the jet wash, especially when using the 'high pressure lance', but most of it stayed put when using a Karcher T-350 patio cleaning brush. Fairly simple job to skim over again with some more and get a reasonable looking result with less effort and mess than normal block paving sand would have been. Good enough for me to buy some more.

Wouldn't buy again
Where do I start....I cleaned the patio with the pressure washer, got all the muck out of the cracks, let it dry and then started with the sand. It took nearly two bags to do our patio. It was a huge amount of hard work, took me almost 7 hours in total (the patio was pretty dirty and I needed to clean up all of the splashes afterwards). The sand went on pretty well, but it was back breaking work. I took my time and made sure that I did everything carefully and brushed as well as I could. Then I gently wet the patio, so that the sand would set. It looked great when the patio was initially wet, but then...Once it was set, I had white marks over pretty much all of the patio. I thought this would brush off, or fade over the next few weeks. It really hasn't. I've tried pressure washing it, and it just won't shift. I have streaks on the patio where the white dust was brushed. It looks awful.Buyer beware!

So easy to use.
Fantastic Product. I have quite a rustic patio, so filling does not have to be perfect. I found this so simple to use and the results are great. Has saved me hours of kneeling and mixing!!!
