Excellent book covering the basics of creating an event.
I liked this book because the author has obviously “walked the walk” with regard to pretty much every aspect of event management. It was also fun to read as she has a good sense of humour and I could easily identify with some of the scenarios described. Recommended for anyone involved with event production.

Just started a course in event management and this book has been a great help. It's easy to follow and the added humour keeps it an interesting read. None of that block text, lots of headings, tables, lists etc. Great starting point for anyone entering the event planning business

Now to earn my first million!
In common with the whole series of books in this series, the author strips down the topic into bitesize chunks to enable the reader to read the chapters and stack building blocks of knowledge. For any event, the devil is in the detail and this book follows suit and describes the detailed planning needed for various types of event. Now, as I say, to earn my first million by following their guidelines!

A very good resource
I bought this book mainly because it was recommended for an event management course that I'm studying. I always thought the 'For Dummies' books rather 'dummed down' their subject - the name would suggest it - but actually, apart from several typographical errors, this is a well-written book that I think most students of the subject will find useful. And anyone needing to plan an event of course. Be aware that it does focus exclusively on corporate events, but the same principles apply to other events too.

Its been sitting proudly on my bookshelf for ages.
Its been sitting proudly on my bookshelf for ages. The day they give me the responsibility of an event that requires a tad more than having a couple of numbers on speed dial and turning up without a hangover that will be the day I pick this book up

Not bad but not good either.
The book is OK but there is insufficient reference to the Green; Purple and Pink Guides these emphasise the statutory requirements of event planning. A little more focus on these guides would improve the publications.
