Cooking Mama (Nintendo DS)

Having had this game recommended by a friend, and I am delighted I bought it. The game is very good as in the use of the stylus and microphone to perform a number of tasks. You are simply not just hitting the DS time and time again, you have to actually have good eye and hand coordination if you want to be successful. I have to say though that for a 3 year old, it does take a little while to get used to, and as in the case of my daughter, she did need some support. The game does itself tell you that it is designed for 3 years plus, albeit I have found in the past some games being easier to master than this one. This game is most definitely for 3 years olds or more.As I mentioned, basically there are over 120 recipes on the game, and you have to make them all. Each recipe has different ingredients, with different tasks for each one. You can be chopping, peeling, frying etc etc. The great point about this game is that albeit you are making something, each recipe has a multiple different ways of using the stylus and microphone - hence it can be addictive keep a 3 yr old entertained for hrs. Perfect for a holiday and the such. Highly recommended.

My 7y.o. doesn't understand much english, but this hasn't prevented her from having lots of fun with Cooking Mama - sometimes she's not really sure what she is cooking, but she makes up her own name for the recipe and is able to follow the instructions and enjoy just the same. Even I find it hard to put down, it is so simple yet so creative!

I brought this from Amazon for your young daughter and she plays it all the time. I also brought from Amazon as it was cheaper than buying on the high street, arrived in good time and excellent condition.

entertaining for a while and easy to learn how to play but slightly repetitive. i didn't pay much for it so it the price made up for the limitations.

My daughter loved this game and was over the moon when I managed to find one at a fantastic price. She hasn’t stopped playing it.

Not for me! This made a great little birthday gift for my niece who loves these platform games. Was thrilled receiving it & still going strong on the DS. Highly recommended girlie game.
