Fountain Pen & Nib Restoration Kit

This is what I use for adjustment and grinding for nibs that are not to my liking. It includes all kind of micromesh paper especially for fountain pens that cannot be found else where. Even grind an italic nib using the tool for myself and it works perfectly.

The kit is great but In the future I would just purchase a bottle of the Micro-Gloss Liquid Adhesive which is included in this kit as this is all that gets used. A drop or two of this on a flat surface and do some Figure 8's until you get it as smooth as you require.Out of the sanding pads, only the 12000 grit micro-mesh included is suitable for fountain pens as the rest are too abrasive, (unless you have serious damage or are wanting to completely change the nib size)

It was what I expected. The complete set includes several micro-mesh pieces, that I have already mounted on thick board for easiness of use. I have already used the kit in refining a couple of nibs and they have worked truly well.

This is an essential kit if you buy the cheaper fountain pens that are sold without nib tuning. A little work with the abrasive pads transforms a scratchy nib into something you can write with.

This kit has helped to breath life into several of my fountain pens which were otherwise going to be consigned to the bottom of a drawer. I'd suggest that you watch a few youtube instruction videos before trying the process out for yourself, make sure you don't start with your most expensive pen. I don't mind telling you that the first time using it was a rather nervous affair!It could be argued that its a bit expensive for what mostly amounts to a few sheets of sandpaper, however, this should be balanced against the cost of either sending pens to a nib meister or as mentioned above just not using them to begin with. So I'm happy to recommend this product

Excellent product. I managed to resurrect and restore two previously 'dead' fountain pens using the kit. 30 minutes work using varying grades of both the micromesh and the included brass shims worked wonders.

Arrived in two days of ordering. This Micro-Mesh has helped me to turn around many of my fountain pens that had been confined to the drawer. For best results go slow and keep testing your work.
