Great Shampoo and Conditioner if You Follow the Directions
I am in the process of letting my hair,(which I have been coloring red for years), grow out to white/gray. I purchased this shampoo not only to fade the red color but also remove all the style gel and hair spray build-up. I washed my hair thoroughly with the Go Gray Shampoo and after rinsing applied the Go Gray conditioner. Following the instructions (leave conditioner on hair for 3 to 5 minutes) I left the Conditioner on my hair for 5 minutes. After rinsing and towel drying my hair, I blow dried my bangs and used my fingers and large hair-pick to arrange my hair to allow it to air dry. My hair feels clean and very soft. My hair is naturally wavy and I love the way it looks and feels. If continued use of the "GO Gray Shampoo and Conditioner" fades my red color I'll add that to my review. I have already ordered more as the product has only 6 ounce bottles and will go quickly.

Don’t waste your money
Does not work! I used it as directed and now my hair is 5 different colors. It left the hair closest to my gray roots orange, and then gradually getting darker to my ends which are darker brown. My hair was medium brown when I started using the shampoo, it did nothing to the ends of my hair just the hair next to my gray roots. Do not recommend

It’s Phenomenal
This is a great product. I used two boxes and the results are gorgeous, I now have shimmery, grey/silver hair and everyone has complimented me on. It did leave a certain smell and had to use perfumed products but after a few washes and it was gone, it’s definitely well worth it though. I used the product because I had a grey demarcation line and was tired of dying my hair, all those chemicals damaging it and on top of that, I was losing some hair. I highly recommend this product because it’s safe, natural and the results are phenomenal and I got my hair back!

Good but
For reference: I have about 50-60% grey hair and my natural color is an ashy brown (I think. I haven’t seen more than an inch of it in the past 20 years!) I have been a box hair dye gal since high school. In the past three years, I cut off all my hair and switched between reds and black dye between trims and grown out periods. I live in a very dry climate and am that person with ten lotions and potions in their daily routine to stop being dry. Alright - ground work lain, let’s get to the product. Both shampoo and conditioner are dark from the charcoal and I’m thinking maybe a little purple/blue to combat brassy tones. From some of the reviews, I think this product has been confused with the color remover. This is a very gentle color remover, if it removes color at all. The success of this product obviously varies based on the color used, the porous nature of the hair when colored, and the time the color was added. My experience from four uses of the product: - smells nice - removed the brassy tones of my box colored red hair, blending my roots a bit more because my natural color is not drastically lighter or darker than the color I used last - made my white hairs more noticeable, even bring out ones I couldn’t see before - didn’t stain my white tile, though it was a fear - the conditioner didn’t make my hair soft like my usual - for my dry skin, the shampoo is drying on the scalp while leaving an unclean feeling to the roots. My scalp is itchy and after the fourth use, it was red. I added some skin oil to my scalp so I could sleep. If you wash your hair each time you shower or more than once a week, you may experience dryness and I suggest a good scalp oil if you intend to continue using each hair wash. I wouldn’t use this product alone, with my own hair, simply due to the residue and the lack of softness after conditioning. (A good scalp oil is suggested anyway - it’ll help as your hair grows out, keeping the shaft from becoming too brittle or dry) Overall, I’m not mad at the results. My scalp isn’t happy so I’ll change my usage of the product to a less frequent basis to brighten my greys as I grow out - at least until the product is gone. I probably won’t rebuy, it doesn’t tick all my boxes. There are blue and purple shampoos out there that remove brassy tones in white, grey, and color treated hair that don’t also leaving the hair feeling dry and without luster. And really, that’s all this product will do for permanent hair color.

Go Gray - setting expectations
I'm 55 and have been using box dye every month tone down the grey invasion in my normally dark brown hair. Decided to quit the box dye and embrace the gray. Stopped the box dye few months ago and tried the GO GRAY - REMOVE to begin removing the residual box dye from my hair. A few initial observations - if you have a lot of hair, you'll need multiple bottles of the GO GRAY-REMOVE each time you use it. I have very thick hair down to my mid-back. One bottle saturated the first third of my head at best. I ended up buying additional bottles for the subsequent treatment and ended up using almost 3 full bottles to fully saturate. Another observation - it's extremely watery. You'll waste a lot of product if you aren't careful in pooling hair below your hand to catch the drippage. Next observation - be sure to have a toning treatment to use on your hair after rinsing out the GO GRAY - REMOVE. Once rinsed, I could certainly see the box brown had started to remove, but the underlying hair was very brassy. Be prepared to use a toning conditioner or shampoo which should help neutralize the brassiness. (the GO GRAY line has their own toning treatment,, but there are numerous purple shampoos to be found) Final observation - It's a process.... I've used the GO GRAY - REMOVE twice now and it appears the box brown has definitely been lightening overall, (especially the grayest sections around my face), but I suspect it will take at least a few more treatments to significantly strip out the residual box dye.

Color was blonde/orange. Not gray/white
This product removes color, but did not restore to gray/white or natural color. Left my hair blonde/orange tint.
