Looking for a Moose

I first saw and purchased this book at a gift shop in Yellowstone National Park. My best friend and I have always talked about how we can never find moose on our travels! I read the book, loved it, and bought it for my soon-to-be-daughter (I was 21 weeks pregnant). She just turned 2 and this is still one of her favorites.I now buy the book as a baby shower gift for friends having little ones - I’m up to 6 purchases! It flows really well, is super cute, and we love that the little dog sees the moose on all of the pages while the kids look around.Good news: when we left Yellowstone and went to Grand Teton, we saw a moose!!

My daughter and I love this book! Fantastic wording and a silly story about a moose "hunt." My girl loves pointing out the hidden moose features in the illustrations that the characters don't see.

Maybe it was all of the sleep deprivation, but the first time I ever read this book I mis-read the word bulgy as 'bug-a-ly" each time it was used. I thought it was cute that the author made up such a fun sounding word. Ha to me! Anyway, it just didn't sound the same when I finally came to and realized what I'd been doing (for weeks before I noticed how sad lol) and corrected myself. So we continue to read it purposefully wrong :) Anyway, my son LOVES this book! His room is Moose themed and his lovie is a little moose blanket so when someone gave us this as a gift at my baby shower, I thought if nothing else, at least it would match our theme. Well we've been reading it since he was 4 months old and it still gets a laugh from him each time we finally find the moose at the end. He is only 14 months old but it will be fun to see him enjoy this book in different ways as he grows (older kids can search for the hidden moose images on the pages). Overall we are so pleased I've begun giving this book to friends who are expecting little boys.

Can you see the the moose before the children in story do? Listen and look for clues to the moose whereabouts. This book is a great "hide and seek" game to play with children as part of a read-aloud. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 was because I noticed on the paperback cover that there is a plastic coating to create the sheen. When I received the book, there was a spot where the plastic was separating and peeling from the cover.

Great book. Well made. Purchased as a gift for my grandson and he enjoyed the story and the pictures.

Cute story about a group of kids trying to see a Moose. My 2 and 4 year old love this book and have fun finding the hidden moose that the kids in the story miss.

This is such a cute book! I visited my sister in Alaska and we drove all around trying to see a wild moose, but never did. This book shows children looking for a moose by climbing trees, taking hikes, going into a swamp, and more.I bought it for my sister and told her that we were doing it all wrong (trying to find a moose)! She loves the book, too!

We expected that there was going to be a moose on each page but there wasn'! Maybe we missed the whole point of the story!
