TowerT80244 6L/22cm Pressure Cooker with Steamer Basket, Stainless Steel, Silver

I bought this pressure cooker specifically for making broth, and I only wish I had done it sooner! It’s a total game-changer. I can make gelatin-rich chicken broth from a chicken carcass in just 1 hour and 15 to 30 minutes—something that used to take all day on the stovetop. The results are phenomenal: rich, flavorful, and packed with nutrients.On top of the amazing results, it’s incredibly energy-efficient, saving both time and money. The design is sturdy and user-friendly, with excellent safety features, and cleanup is quick and easy.

Had to get a new pressure cooker as the one I’d had for years wouldn’t work on an induction hob. This one feels slightly larger and has a good steam release valve. It is good for induction cooking and saves fuel costs by cooking economically. If not over filled there is no leaking.

Nice big 9 litre capacity, although you can only fill to 2/3rd for actual cooking so really only 6 litres.Good heavy bottom, and feels like a quality product. Love the two pressure settings and ease of use.Was looking for one which was wider and not as tall as this but it does the job.I cooked two dishes in under 2 hrs, which would have taken about 5 hrs easily, so saved on time and energy cost.

This is a review of the Tower T80244 6L/22cm Pressure Cooker.I have had the smaller Tower 3L pressure cooker for a couple of years but sometimes find that it is too small so was pleased to see this 6litre model on offer. I observe that this 6 litre version does take a little longer to get upto pressure and come down from pressure than the 3 litre variant.I use this mainly for cooking vegetables. I used to use the microwave and feel that the vegetables taste better when prepared in the pressure cooker. I also make soups, have cooked chicken and also have prepared brown rice or lentils from their dried form.I have used, and know, that there are better pressure cookers out there but these can cost a multiple of the price that these Tower pressure cookers are sold for and are not a multiple of times better. Some of the other cookers have a gauge that rises and I find that they are easier to see how much pressure is in the cooker than this Tower pressure cooker but after a while I have got used to this pressure cooker and feel that I can achieve the same result as from the more expensive ones.The product does come with a basic guide for how long to cook things for but I find myself looking on the Internet. Generally cooking times are given for when the cooker is upto pressure and are generally about a third of normal cooking time. You also need to allow a minute or so after cooking to de-pressure the pressure cooker(by turning the dial to the steam release setting) but must note also, that some things you have to let the pressure drop naturally(slowly) without releasing the pressure.(somethings become frothy and can spout like a fountain if you try to release the pressure using the regulator release setting - the guidebook, page 12 shows which products this applies to and how to slowly reduce the pressure)Regarding the time taken to get upto pressure, I used to have a gas hob and this would take maybe 5 minutes. I have recently changed to an induction hob and this pressure cooker works really well on and now takes less than a couple of minutes to bring the cooker upto pressure if you are steaming and maybe a little longer for other forms of cooking.The small guidebook that the product comes with gives basic safety guidance which is important to read first and it advises that, "The cooking time begins directly as the heat is turned down, once the red pressure indicator valve rises and the pressure cooker begins to hiss to release steam." What I do is set the pressure cooker at pressure level 1 and I stay with the pressure cooker as it is heating up and a short while after the red valve has risen you can hear that the steam starts to be released from the middle of the circular dial that you set the pressure with. At that point I set the timer for the cooking and also increase the pressure cooker upto pressure 2(If required) and then bring the hob heat down to the level required to maintain pressure which on my induction hob is about 6 of 9 heat levels. You will need to experiment with your hob but I find with this that I can then leave the pressure cooker to maintain the pressure and get on with other preparation.This is really good pan too. If you make a soup, you can start using the pressure cooker to fry your onions before adding the other ingredients/stock and bringing upto pressure before cooking at pressure for 6-7 minutes.You can also register the product for a 10 year guarantee online too. I feel that this is a substantial product and having had the smaller 3 litre version for a couple of years, feel that other than perhaps a new seal, the product is likely to still be working well and in use after 10 years.

Perfect size for a small family. Easy to use, heavy duty and good build quality. Easy to clean as well. Big help in the kitchen especially reducing cooking time. Multiple features and looks good.

since day one for over a year now: no guarantee for pressure buildup in the product, only few times it works most of the time it does not and burn the food

The Tower pressure cooker is a well made and sturdy stove top cooker. I have had this for awhile now and am getting used to it. It can certainly reduce the time scale of cooking large items saving energy . Getting the timing right on short cooking time vegetables is a bit tricky but comes with experience. The controls on the top do look a bit flimsy but have not been any trouble so far. The cooker is easy to use and unlike the one we had years ago does not have a hissey fit when you disturb the weights, in fact there are no weights. I really like this cooker and use it as much as possible. The instruction book that Tower supply does leave a lot to ne desired though.

I use this every day. It's a good size and suits all of my cooking needs. I cook beef and chicken in half of the time and results are succulent. I love this machine. Great value for money. Definitely recommend
