Synology makes a great product!
If you are looking for a don't break the bank NAS, this is the ticket. I have used Synology for years. Their routers and NAS systems are rock solid, they are easy to setup and use and I have yet to experience a failure. Don't ask me about their customer service because their products are so good I have never had to contact them.

First NAS - Not disappointed at all.
This is my first NAS. I had concerns about the noise some people mentioned in reviews. However, mine is super quiet, unless there is disc activity, of course. I installed two 16 TB Synology HDs. They all work like a champ and I have all of my data transferred. It took about a day to check my discs after I installed them, but the wait was well worth it! Highly recommended!

Great Product
We received it and we have not had any issue with it. It's a very quality product and received just as advertised. The only issue was with my country's customs. I suggest the seller include the estimated cost of clearing to the price so buyers do not have to be blindsided by their customs agents.

A mess of help menus that lead you to dead ends. No time for this nonsense.
Never installed an NAS but I worked IT support for ten years. Synology needs to step back to slow down on the help menus. The instructions constantly lead you into dead ends. The help menus lead you down 30 pages of 'suggestions' on the website but rarely do they directly talk about what you need help on. Need to find a reset button? It sends to you the drive description, then you have to look to the far right and see a documentation tab, which you see the owners manual, and then 20 files to download, oh wait, i want the English version, they after downloading you turn pages until you finally find the diagram showing the reset button. You climb up the ladder, reset the NAS, go back to your computer and still it refuses to let you login, so you have to go back to the website, create an account, login to the account but wait, it wants me to use my authenticator, so I do, but wait, Synology refuses to allow me to use my authenticator, so I have to download the Synology authenticator, then jump threw hoops to get the authenticator to work, FINALLY logged into my account, I see the drive but nothing I can do. Then it tells me I have no licenses. So i need to buy $20 licenses, but it shows me I need three of them??? Why? Not going down that rabbit hole. SO I back out to where I started, and again all I see is the NAS but its a lead weight. I cannot do anything with it, no instructions on what to do next. Just an overview page with account information and what do I do next??? Lousy menus, cryptic pathways that lead you to dead ends. I'm sure there is a decent product to use here but without common sense help menus, and an AI bot who spits out reams of help information that lead to more dead ends I come away with the realization that Synology has never done product testing on a room full of average users. That it makes money with you shelling out cash for tech support due to an overly complicated setup menu. I'm faced with pulling the four 10 TB drives and returning this mess. Don't need this hassle. Sorry Synology, do product testing and you will see how ridiculously complicated you make the drive.
