I took probiotics right after antibiotics (3rd full course in my lifetime) and I'm certain it's what caused permanent small white bumps on the back of my arms in the tricep area. My doctor said it was KP, but I suspected it was a type of bacteria that wasn't causing inflammation. Anyways the fix was blue light therapy which kills bacteria, including good bacteria. This help reset the microbiome in that area. I say probiotics are in their infancy because any brand only contains 10-20 strains and the human gut has up to 1000 strains. I feel like if you take too much then you'll create a monopoly of a good bacteria, but too much of a good thing is a bad thing, hence my problem arose.
