It's just plug and play, I suggest that if you have a microphone built into your head unit, it's not going to sound as good as if you purchase a external mike like this one. Great reception, great sound.

It works, but you need to be close to it for anyone to understand you, mounted on dash it base of steering wheel, person on other end of call could not understand what I was saying, . Had to get maybe a foot away before they could understand me

I have been putting off installing an external microphone in my car since it is always such a hassle to remove the Android headunit and redo the wiring. However, my current radio makes it very difficult for anyone to hear/understand me on calls, so I finally gave in after 6 years and got this wired microphone. It is a very basic product, just a 3.5mm mono mic that plugs into the MIC/AUX input jack for standard third-party radios. The cord is long enough for most car dash situations, and the product includes both a flat adhesive for mounting to the dash directly and a clip to mount to a visor. Overall, the sound quality isn't that great, but it's cheap and compared to the stock headunit microphone, it is a significant and much needed improvement!

I got this microphone for use in my little Nissan Note. I have a Kenwood head unit that has dual Bluetooth but the built-in microphone is a bit weak. I was given a microphone by a friend of mine but it was a bit loose and no longer had the windscreen on it. So when this popped up I was really eager to test it out. And let me tell you, it passes with flying colors. It fits nice and snug at the top of the A-pillar panel where it mates with the headliner. that position is perfect for me because it is out of the way and I can hide the wires nicely. The sound is crystal clear, according to my friends and family. Gone are the days when people said to me "Your background is kinda noisy...call me back". I can now carry on decent conversations while using it. I don't really drive with my windows open so I haven't tested it in tropical storm wind conditions, but I suppose that's not necessary. This really feels like a quality piece and I highly recommend it. Great price and great quality.
