Great value and power for mobile DJs
I’ve been really digging Mackie lately. When I first started getting into DJing and sound, a lot of people kind of looked down on the brand like it was the “cheap” option. But after using this speaker and a few other Mackies, I honestly have no complaints. It sounds great, performs reliably, and I don’t think there’s much of a difference to other big names like QSC and EV. Definitely recommend if you’re building out your setup and want something dependable.

Light and Loud
I mounted these over my Thump 18" bass bins through the bass bin built in cross over , and damn ! What an excellent sound. These are loud ,powerful ,and clear . I love these , especially at this price point. Any small to medium venue will find these to be more than adequate. I added the Mackie padded covers for storage also. These would make serious Monitors as well. They are wedged to accommodate this. My bandmates love the sound we get out of this system compared to house PA's and passive systems. Easy to set up and even easier to set levels. These are by far my favorite set up I have used so far. Now that being said, I haven't used the systems that are priced out of my league, but I can't imagine for the size of the venues we play , that we could notice a sizable increase of quality sound than we are getting now.

Love them
Have 4 of them for a year now, so loud, good balance. One dropped out of the back of a Chevy Tahoe and hit a curb, it still functioning just fine. Build quality is definitely as advertised.

Better than a bass combo amp…
Love this product! I use it with a Zoom Bass multi-FX pedal as a preamp and it sounds great. For the wattage and weight (35lbs) you can’t get a dedicated bass rig this good for under a grand. And if you need more volume, you just get two. Plug and play.It is a 700 watt RMS (1400 watts is peak, not what the Class D amp will put out continuously) system biamped internally with 100 watts RMS to the high frequency driver and 600 to the 15 LF. The crossover is at 2kHz. The high frequency driver is horn loaded so the midrange smooths out quite a bit. Really good low-mid frequency response. Probably 60Hz @ 0 dB, which is the second harmonic of the low B on most 5 strings and the frequency you actually HEAR versus feel in bass. Look up psychoacoustics if you want to learn more about that. Can get a bit boom-y with some settings in some rooms, but EQ in my preamp solves that. For reference, on my SVT model, I cut bass by -3, Mids 0, Treble -3 and just roll my tone knob for taste on that. Mid notch is 350 hz or there abouts. This is for a practice room that houses keys, vocal PA, drums, guitars, etc. For a stage, without PA support, I’d use two. With PA, I’d put one down as a monitor for myself.Edit: newer model has more power and is even lighter.

Needs longer power Cord
I bought two of these to upgrade from the Pyle all in one set up I was using as I built up a rep as a djay. I have to say these are leaps and bounds beyond what I was using even though the Pyle system was sufficient for smaller indoor events and localized outdoor events.Pros:Light weight for the size and multiple place to carry from ( 2 handles & a lip on top)Sound is loud and clean even with bass heavy tracks. They look nice and have two 3 connection ports (1 xlr)Independent knobs to control levels of different channels.Cons:Power cables are really short

Sounds great with helix and tonex guitar processors
Sounds great with tonex and helix guitar processes. I wanted a versatile powered speaker for guitar, electronic drums, vocals, and just music play back. This speaker has been great for all that. Guitar patches need to have bass lowered a bit since this 15 inch speaker drives a bit heavier bass but that is what I expected. It does make a bit of a popping sound on b startup but doesn't seem loud enough to damage anything. So far, love this speaker for my uses.

Sound amazing
I am just now replacing my last generation version of these same speakers that I bought in 2008. They have been used indoors and outdoors, played at very high volumes, always with a lot of bass, and even with all that abuse, they lasted 18 years!!! I hope this generation is just as great! Amazing value at this price or any price for that matter!
