Lovely gift
The book got several critics but my teacher loved the gift.

Just an ok coffee table book
Way too much Kate moss in this, I expected to see the entire catalog of calvin kleins underwear campaign but only a few were chosen. Overall an ok coffee table book, It could have been much better by including the entire archive of Calvin Klein underwear campaigns.

Photos do the heavy lifting
Gorgeous images - there are only two or three short essays, and captions seem limited to identifying the year the photo was taken - slowly piece together Mr Klein's oversized contribution to the present landscape, from the way we relate to our bodies to our tribal affiliations. If the fashion seems banal in hindsight, one can only conclude that it is because he was so widely copied. (Not that there weren't some gorgeous collections, especially in the mid to late 80s). An interesting, at times breathtaking, journey.
