A stylish and efficient kettle
This is a great value good-looking and efficient kettle. It is made of stainless steel with a brushed finish. It has black plastic in the places where you are likely to touch it as it obviously gets quite hot so; the handle, the lid and the base. It’s quite a nicely designed object. It pours nicely with its well-engineered “perfect pour” spout. You can actually boil fairly small amounts of water in it which is good and it has “water window” so that you can accurately judge how much water you need to boil. Being a cordless kettle, it sits well on its base and can be rotated on it through 360 degreesIt has a concealed element and the insides of the kettle are smooth meaning that it’s easy to keep clean. If you live in an area with hard water, this makes it easier to remove any build up of limescale. Also, to prevent any loose limescale ending up in your drink, there is a filter on the spout which works reasonably well.I bought this kettle to replace another Russell Hobbs product which ended up (after many years of use) with a broken switch. That was a slightly more expensive version of this kettle that is described as “Quiet & Fast Boil”. Although it is true to say that the old kettle was a bit quieter to boil than this one, it had the disbenefit of being more difficult to clean inside and descale due to having a “diffuser” inside which was more prone to limescale build up.So unless the quiet boil feature is important to you, I would say that this cheaper model is better if you live in an area with hard water.Overall I have found this kettle to be well-suited to my needs. I don’t always need to boil much more than a cup of water so it’s good that it can do that pretty quickly. But it also has a good capacity of 1.7 litres for the times that I want to boil more.I definitely recommend this kettle but if you want the quieter version and don’t have hard water then the slightly more expensive model is also worth considering.

Stylish quality kettle.
I bought this to replace an almost identical one that had been damaged on the base electrical connection. We had that kettle about 3 years so it was fair wear considering the everyday use. I really like the style, ease with which it can be filled and the speed it takes to boil. Maybe a little noisy but I’m not concerned about that. I also purchased it at a great price.

Good Kettle at an excellent price
I trust the Russell Hobbs brand and always find their kettles to be reliable and of good quality.I’m giving four stars and not five because the style of on/off switch on the kettle has broken on our last two similar kettles (each time just outside the 24 month extended guarantee period), rendering otherwise perfectly working kettles useless. (The last Kettle was Russell Hobbs and the one before a different brand but with similar style switches). It is also very noisy when heating up.What I love is the easy opening lid for filling and the fantastic poring spout. It’s also a cool design which looks good on the worktop.I chose it because the price was good and it was made by a manufacturer I trust.

Bit Noisy. Bit heavy for a small kettle.
A but loud when boiling. A bit heavy to lift for a small kettle. Looks good though on the worktop.

Good kettle
Great spout for a drip free pour.Good firm on switch.Downside is that you have to fill the kettle left handed from a water jug if you want to see the water level from outside the kettle as the flip up lid gets in the way of a righthanded fill .If you fill straight from the tap then no problem.
