Very nice bushcraft knife for people on a budget.
This is a really nice full tang knife at a very reasonable price. I paid $40 dollars after taxes. The leather sheath alone is worth that. I've had other knives three times this price have leather sheaths that aren't this nice. I also like the fact that it's made in the Ukraine, and not made in China. My only small gripe with it is that the handle isn't quite as wide as I would prefer. But it's totally usable still. I just have to grip it a little harder to get enough purchase. The back of the blade has an extremely sharp ninety degree spine, that's excellent for striking a fero rod. All the metal on the handle is sanded down and smooth to the touch. It also came sharp enough to shave with. So all in all I am very happy with this purchase. And would recommend it to anyone looking for a good bushcraft knife. Especially if you are on a budget. 👍

Great value
This is my second knife from this company. The quality of this knife is surprisingly high again. Ergonomics and durability is what I've paid three times as much for on other knives. The blade is perfectly straight to the human eye, very sharp, and is cut at a perfect angle. The quality & fit of the sheath has a drain hole and buyers will also be impressed as it looks like top grain leather and the stitching is beautiful. The striker and knife fit snugly and this design will float on the belt, and help to prevent broken ribs, in situations like the wearer is leaning on a tree and slipping on dry grass. To top it all off, there are holes for Ranger Assist (Dummy) Cords. Great price and no extra charge for shipping. I plan to buy more and keep as gifts for grandchildren. Gotta go put mink oil on the sheath.

Good Scandi grind knife at a great price.
I was going to purchase a Beavercraft knife, also made in Ukraine, but after watching a review, I decided to go with the BPS. This is my first knife with a scandi grind. The walnut grip has a nice size and shape to it. The blade seems well made and of good quality, but did need just a bit of finishing along the edge. With a slight honing, it now has a nice edge. The sheath is particularly nice, with thick, beautiful leather. I'm pleased with the purchase, especially for $41.

Great Buschcraft knife for the money.
I have a few Scandi Grind knives and use them for carving, buschcraft, and camping. I like the ergonomics of this knife and the balance. I believe that BPS is one of the best values out there. The combination of steel,Sheath, and balance is great. I have another BPS knife (HKI SSH) and that is nice as well. I took some photos of the Adventurer, the HKI and a Mora Companion Heavy Duty for comparison. the spine on the BPS knives are flat and sharp for use with a fire steel. One thing I did not like is the sheath loop is connected by a rivet so you are not able to transfer the knife quickly from your belt to lets say a pack or use it as aneck knife. This was an easy fix by replacing the rivet with a snap. I did this to both of my BPS knives. I find it way more useful than having to remove my belt. (just my preference). As the photos show I use my knives and the Adventurer is a good knife. I have used it to baton wood and it holds up well with with normal sized pieces (like 3" round). It also cuts well and makes good shavings. It is close to the Mora but I think the Mora is a bit better. The knife is easy to sharpen and takes a good edge. I always touch up a new blade as I find factory edges are sometimes lacking. The BPS did come razor sharp and it was well ground. Overall I am very pleased with this knife. The large size helps with certain tasks and the balance is great. I would recommend this knife without hesitation. Best value for the money if you want a more traditional looking knife. Happy camping.

Very sharp and great quality
BPS Knives has built a reputation among outdoor enthusiasts and knife collectors, and after spending quality time with one of their knives, I completely understand why. This is a knife that impresses from the moment you unbox it and continues to exceed expectations with regular use. Exceptional Build Quality The craftsmanship on this BPS knife is outstanding. Every aspect of the construction—from the blade steel to the handle materials to the fit and finish—demonstrates attention to detail and a commitment to producing a superior product. The knife feels substantial and well-balanced in hand, with no wobble, no loose fittings, and no shortcuts in the manufacturing process. This is clearly a knife designed and built by people who understand what serious users need and expect from their cutting tools. Razor Sharp Out of the Box When I say this knife is extremely sharp, I'm not exaggerating. The factory edge on this blade is genuinely impressive—sharp enough to shave hair right out of the package. Many knives claim to come sharp, but this one actually delivers on that promise. The blade cuts through rope, wood, food prep tasks, and general outdoor cutting chores with minimal effort. That initial sharpness is a clear indicator of the quality steel and proper heat treatment that went into this blade. Outstanding Edge Retention What truly sets this knife apart is how well it holds that sharp edge over time. I've used this knife extensively for various tasks, and the blade remains impressively sharp even after significant use. While all knives eventually need sharpening, this one requires it far less frequently than many others I've owned. The steel quality is clearly excellent, and the blade geometry is optimized for both cutting performance and edge longevity. When you invest in a good knife, edge retention is one of the most important performance factors, and this BPS knife delivers admirably. The Fire Starter: Room for Improvement If I'm being completely honest, the one disappointment with this package is the included fire starter. While it's a nice gesture to include one with the knife, the fire starter itself feels like an afterthought—cheaply made and not up to the same quality standards as the knife. It works for basic fire-starting tasks, but it lacks the durability and reliability you'd want from a true survival tool. The rod seems small, the striker feels flimsy, and overall it doesn't inspire the same confidence as the knife itself. That said, this is a relatively minor issue. Most serious outdoor enthusiasts already have their own preferred fire-starting equipment, and the knife is really what you're buying here. A subpar fire starter doesn't diminish the excellence of the blade itself. BPS would do well to either upgrade the fire starter to match the knife's quality or simply skip it and let the knife stand on its own merits. Overall Assessment Despite the underwhelming fire starter, this is an excellent knife that I'm genuinely happy to own and use. The blade quality, sharpness, edge retention, and overall construction are all top-notch. BPS Knives clearly knows how to make a superior cutting tool, and this knife represents outstanding value for anyone looking for a reliable, high-performance blade for outdoor activities, everyday carry, or general use. If you're in the market for a quality knife and BPS is on your radar, don't hesitate. Just consider investing in a better fire starter separately if that's something you need. The knife itself absolutely delivers on performance and quality, making it a purchase you won't regret.

I received the knife as described. This knife is solid. It has a great heft to it. Though it feels heavy, the knife is balanced and feels effortless when handling. To be honest I don't like light knives. The edge feels sharp. I haven't used it yet but soon will and will update the knife's performance. The full tang gives an extra level of confidence when using it. My go to knife before use to be the Morakniv Companion which is a great knife. The only drawback of the Morakniv is it only has 3/4 tang. I'm thinking the Adventurer will soon displace the Companion as my go to knife. The sheath is thick leather and well stitched. The fire starter holder is snug with little or no chance of the ferro rod falling out. I can't wait to try it out. I am a hesitant to use it to cut food as the carbon blade may react from the acidity from the food. Still I am very impressed with the knife so far. Lastly I wanted to support Ukraine somehow. No better way than to contribute to its economy by buying Ukrainian products. Дякую Україно Update: I put this knife to good use processing the fallen limbs of an alder tree from a neighbour's yard. For the smaller diameter branches, 1 inch thick, the knife hacked through them fairly easily. I used it to baton some wood and was very satisfied at how study the knife felt. When trying to hack/chop through thicker pieces of wood, it could handle the work but better to use an axe for this job. At the end of the job, the blade held its edge. And although some people prefer lighter knives, I like the heavier feel of the Adventurer. The extra mass did a lot of the work when chopping. The only thing the knife lacks is that it doesn't have jimping (the ridges on the back on the blade) for your thumb to rest on top of for extra grip. Overall very good knife. Will buy another when the time comes.
