best portable charger around
I had to return my first unit as it didn't seem to work but J+ customer support were fantastic and incredibly responsive. I even got a discount on my 2nd unit. This really is the best portable charger out there, and it comes with a bracket to make it a fixed one at home if you want. It really is very sturdy, though that does also mean its heavier. As you will find on the internet people have driven over these with pickups and they still work. Well, I have not, and will not try that. But compared to my KIA OEM and another aftermarket brand unit this one does look like it will survive multiple droppings on concrete etc. without any issues. Comes with a separate 120V and a 240V connection cable so you can use either type outlet which is nice. Just be careful the sleeve on the connection between the control unit and the short 120 or 240V cable "positively" connect and clicks. You'll find out quick enough if it hasn't anyway as with the weight of the control unit, it will pull apart with gravity, and unit won't work anyway if connection not correct. Its nice to be able to set it for a multitude of current settings up to 40A in case you need that variable capability. Comes in a very nice case (though large) to fit the whole unit. Only minor gripe is that the rubber cover on the J1772 end is a little snug to get off and on, but then it probably makes it much more weatherproof. Has been great doing 120V at home indoors and 240V at work outdoors (and in the sleet/snow this week). Supposedly its been tested after dunking in several feet water. Its also UL rated. Its a little pricey compared to some others but even the 21ft system ( I have the 25) is still a little longer than some others but I think it is well worth the $$ and should last a lot longer than others especially if used outside and exposed to the weather. You can buy a lock to ensure the unit can't be removed from the wall holder (if you use that) or someone can't disconnect the wall outlet cable from the control unit (stops the connecting sleeve sliding to unlock). Shout out again to Greg and the great customer support at J+.

Doesn't GFCI Fault
I bought this charger for my Tesla Model 3 because after 4 years the mobile charger my car came with started to give me issues. It would randomly stop charging with the Tesla app reporting no power unavailable. The Service Notifications in the car were reporting GFCI failures, but I know my outlet was fine. I knew it wasn't a battery PCS failure because my car would charge at 30amps just fine from another AC charger. So, yeah...I bought this as my replacement Tesla mobile charger for a few reasons: 1) It can do 40amps. Most chargers with swappable outlets can only do 32amps. 2) It has swappable connectors. 3) Made in Switzerland. Along with the price tag, I hope this implies a high quality. 4) It's repairable. Juice will actually service the charger if it fails. Very appealing to me. eWaste sucks. 5) It's built to last. You can tell that this thing is durable. It built like a military grade product...which contributes to it's only con.... My only complaint with the charger is how unwieldy it is. Compared to the standard Tesla UMC, this thing has a stiffer thicker cable, a bulkier J1772 charging connector, with the barrel also being pretty hefty. It coils fine in my trunk under-storage area, but it's notably harder to use relative to the Tesla UMC. However...this an easy price for me to pay for a charger I hope to never have to buy again.

Great Product - and Great Customer Service!
This J + Portable Level 2 EV Charger is great! Solid, indestructible, and very reliable. We have travelled extensively with it around California and now live in MA and expect that it will come in quite handy as well. We did have an electrical problem that probably had more to do with the wiring of our outdoor EV charging station which caused some damage to the charging unit. The company - in this case, Michael - stood behind their product and even though they could have insisted that the problem was of our doing (pretty hard to determine!), they replaced the cable and and adapter and took great care of us. The have customers for life!!

By far the best portable charger I have used.
This charger is super rugged and has a ton of options for adapters to plug into about any outlet. It is not as portable as others, especially with multiple adapters in the case. But it makes up for it for the ability to be able to charge anywhere there is power. We use it for our Y on trips where there may not be a Tesla Supercharger available. Works great and you do not have to worry about it being damaged from a campground or other not-so-civilized charging location. If you have a 50A 220V outlet, it is just like charging at home. Which you can do with this one as well since it comes with a locking wall mount if you only want to have one charger for home and on-the-go charging.

Shot Plug / charging Cable is rated only for 32amp gets very HOT !
PROS: Good design & solid material. CONS: >Too short cable: Cable is only 17' ?? >Plug side cable is too short only 6 inches long. >Plug connector and the cable got very hot 122F ; even in summer days it may be hotter, so I thought this was not safe. >Not a functional APP >Cable is very stiff at the mean time only 10AWG (5.3mm2) which is not enough for a 40Amp circuit max can use 32Amp on AWG-10 wire that is why it gets very hot. >I wonder how UL gave a certificate for a 10AWG cabled charger, where it needs 40amp 8AWG wire. > looks like previous returned item shipped to me; items shipped had sing of previous return had a lot of box wear out. Looks like I am retuning it; not long enough cable for me I need at least 21' and it is not safe for me to use with thin cable!
