these don't work for my bischon frise at all, moved in to a new apartment recently and he's barking at new sounds he hears from neighbours, cars outside window and especially when he is left alone. He reacted slightly to the sound the first time but never again after that, he will still bark it doesn't stop him at all. he actually reacts turned on more to the beep sound when you turn the device on now than anything else. I've even put two of the devices turned on side by side together and makes zero difference. I'd because the sound is apparently too high for humans to hear its impossible for me to tell if the device is even making a sound any more, and my dog doesn't react. Took a chance buying these but - Waste of money.

Our 2-year old Bichon Frise used to howl, bark and just go nuts whenever we left her in the house alone - typical separation anxiety symptomns. We tried everything; different food, different routine, different environment but to no avail. We also tried going down the route of a dog behaviour therapist, but again to no avail.When the device arrived, we placed it by the front door and tried to make her bark (to test). She barked a few times and it kicked in once after the third or fourth bark. When it did, she sat down and looked around. After that everything about her is much better. She's very relaxed whenever anyone comes to the house, she NEVER barks when we leave her although she groans but still no where near as bad as what she was doing, which means happier neighbours.Couldn't be happier. :-)

I prefer devices that emit a sound rather than having a collar on the dogs and the fact that they can be placed anywhere is great.But they just don't work in the slightest. The dogs continue to bark even when they're emitting a sound but the dogs seem to ignore it and carry on barking.

Absolute waste of money. I bought it as my dog often has a mad half hour in the evening and barks when people are coming up the garden path. The device had no impact what so ever. She showed no signs of hearing an uncomfortable noise. I have decided that she is only doing what dogs are supposed to do and actually it is quite a good thing that she barks when someone comes up the path. I have switched the device off and wont be using them again.

I bought this product to help prevent my dog from barking when I leave the house. However, it has not been suitable for the job. The product is far lighter and of lower quality in reality than it appears from the image shown. I would even go so far as to say it is flimsy.While it does emit a high-pitched sound when the button is pressed, it does not do so on sensing your dog bark as the description implies. Therefore, the user is only able to activate the sound when present, making the product useless for dealing with problem barking that occurs when you are not in the room. Your dog will also very quickly learn that there is no danger of being subjected to the sound unless you are sat nearby with the device in your hand. This means that it is not possible to form good habits and shape long term behaviour.If you are considering buying this product for use with problem barking, I would highly recommend spending 30 - 40 pounds more to get something more reliable and of better quality. It may seem like you are saving money by going for the cheaper alternative but if you really wish to change your pet's behaviour you will likely end up paying the extra at a later date anyway.

Was worried about this as didn't want to upset our dog more (she had recently started barking at night- never been a problem before) but it worked perfectly- you could see her trying to work out what the sound was when it happened after her barking, but importantly for us it just completely distracted her and didn't seem to upset her at all. She barked once the first two nights and hasn't since then when it has been on. She's already so much better and we hope to be able to stop using it soon but still want it as a deterrent for now.

I was dubious in buying this product due to the mixed reviews and do believe that its effectiveness is dependent on your dogs bark, but for my two dogs (one with a high pitched, one with a low tone bark) it has worked wonders!!!The instant response was evident and both dogs barking has reduced dramatically already in just 5 days!For the money, if your dogs barking is an issue I would highly recommend trying this and giving it the recommended 2-3 weeks trial before deciding if it works, as association with the sound and barking can take this long!!The only down side, my cat hates it and runs a mile when it is set off!I have recommended this to 2 friends already......

My dogs didnt even notice it and because it is inaudible to humans it is impossible to know if it is working.Packaging lid is tightly glued so that it cant be returned as it is then classesd as damaged.Would not recommend.
