Perfect for Gerbils!
The media could not be loaded. My gerbil Rosie is very impressed with her new wheel... it is nice and quiet and was in use within 30 seconds of being put in the cage.I chose this wheel as it has a metal base and it feels quite heavy and sturdy, I dont think it will tip over. the last wheel they had had a plastic base that they chewed through and demolished within a month...hopefully this one should stand the test of time!

Not Silent
The media could not be loaded. I bought this to upgrade my Russian Dwarf Hamsters wheel from 5” to 7” as hers was too small. First reactions are it feels quite cheap and is definitely not silent. It comes in 4 pieces: the wheel, the stand, a piece to connect to the stand to the wheel, a washer to connect it to the cage bars. It doesn’t come with instructions but I managed to put it together using the pictures on the box. I first put it on the stand but it doesn’t clip the stand into the holder so it can easily fall out when you move it. I was worried about it falling off and injuring my hamster so I decided to connect it to the cage bars. This is an incredibly loud option as it makes the whole cage shake and creates an unbearable sound. I’ve had to change it back to the stand which means the wheel takes up a lot of space as it is very bulky and I have to have place it far enough from the cage walls for it to not bang on them. It is quieter but still rattles slightly, if you are a light sleeper it would wake you up. It also squeaksI am going to continue my search for a new wheel as I can’t give her the old whee back due to the damage it can cause her spine by being too small. If you have to keep your hamster in your bedroom like I do, this is not the wheel for you.It is also poorly made with some of the plastic not being smooth all over. You can tell it is of cheap qualityUPDATE: After a week of having it, the rattling has become unbearable. I will be replacing this as soon as I can

Quiet wheel that fitted Omni cage
We had purchased an Omni cage and found that the orange wheel it comes with, although large and suitable for a Syrian hamster, was way too loud.Bought this silent spinner and although it looked too big at first (Omni cage clearance is 22cm), I just managed to get it to fit with a little adjustment - dont tighten the back completly and it sits just right. If all else fails move the middle shelf a few rungs down.Anyway, it's so much more silent than the previous wheel. The mechanism on the back feels more rigid than the standard wheels. And also the fix catch comes with both vertical and horizontal grooves meaning you can connect the wheel to the parts of the cage where there is a vertical wire meaning the wheel stays fixed in place with no movement, however much it's used.Hamster seems very happy with new wheel and was on it straight away. It also seems a good fit for a Syrian with no back arching.Furthermore, wheel did come with attachable wire base but didn't bother taking it out the box as I didn't need it, so can't comment on that bit.Very happy with this purchase.

Not that silent
Not as silent as it should be and if used with the stand it is not very stable and wheel can tip and very loose fit onto the stand. However my Syrian Hamster loves it and spends hours on it and he would give it 5 stars

Not great for smaller/weak hamsters
Got this wheel for my hamster but she is rather small (on the scale of hamsters haha). She really struggles to move the wheel so I’ve loosened it up a lot but then it’s almost falling apart when she uses it. I have mines placed on the floor of her cage, not clipped on the side so maybe that way would be better for some but unfortunately doesn’t fit to my cage. I am going to try some form of lubricant to help the wheel spin and see if she manages better with that.Would probably try and find a different one if you are looking to place it on the floor of the cage.
