The main factor in buying this item was the price - a fully functional plasma ball for under £20 is an easy decision for me. When it arrived I wasn't expecting too much based on other reviews of it being flimsy and cheaply made, but it looked fine to me once I had it out of the package. The glass is clearly very thin, and the plastic base is too - but the whole thing feels well made and robust when held and doesn't feel like it is going to fall apart. Very good build quality, just cheaper materials, but for the money, great value! If this was dropped then it would undoubtedly break, but so would my laptop, my tv, my external hard drives etc. Basically, treat it with care as you would any of your other prized possessions and it should last you for years. The real value in this item is once it is turned on, and it is nothing short of spectacular. Even in a well lit room it looked very impressive, the central ball has almost psychedelic colours melting over it as the electric lines reach out towards the glass - cut the lights and the real magic happens. I could spend hours just looking at it, but the fact you can interact with this only enhances the enjoyment - once you place your fingers on the glass and and the lighting starts channeling directly towards you, well, it was enough to make me believe I was God for a while. I agree with other reviews, keep this away from any other electrical goods you have. Once you touch it, you can feel the electric field surrounding it, and you can actually feel the electrical discharges through your hand and arm! Quite weird at first, but pretty cool once you get used to it. Also the ability to hold the plasma ball, then touch your friends and loved ones to give them and you an electric shock - that alone is worth the money. I use this every day just to relax, and is always on at parties where it never fails to draw a crowd. Buy it, this is too cheap, too much fun and too cool to miss out on.

This is very good and good fun - the 'beams' are intense and dramatic and you can draw extraordinary patterns with your fingers - use the lightest touch and don't stop moving them otherwise a hotspot could cause damage. The globe itself is made of very thin glass which could easily break, so adult supervision of youngsters is required if tears are to be avoided! The only downside was the sound sensitive function, which really doesn't pick up sounds sensitively enough: the idea being that the 'beams' fire only when sounds are made: we found that the sounds had to be very loud to get this to happen. If this function is critical to you, the device probably isn't for you; but if not, it's a fascinating bit of science all ages will appreciate - hence my 5-star rating. (11/17)

Item was great, luckily, as the packaging was terrible, all crumpled and big hole in the side of the box.

Really very pleased with this item ,its well made ,strong plastic for base and glass for the dome area. Although visible in light it really comes to life in the dark ,it creates a very impressive light show and touching the globe creates interesting patterns, the noise triggered option is very unresponsive and needs high volume levels to work ,we have had it a couple of month's now and until a week ago it was on most of the time with no issues. I recently moved the light to another part of the room to accommodate a christmas tree ,with in hours we had lost our broadband connection ,it appears that these lights generate a very large localised magnetic force ,the bloke from talk talk suggested turning it off and broadband was back and has stayed with us for a few days now .I have also had problems with a cordless door chime not working , sky remote controls acting a little strange and also my smartphone locked up when trying to take a picture of it! Very good product for the price BUT best to keep it away from electrical equipment.

Absolute joke the plasma ball doesn’t even turn on waited days for a birthday present for the kids and go to test it and it doesn’t even work do not buy this item pot luck if you get a working unit absolute joke not happy at all!

The ball itself is great, really good fun and something I've wanted for ages but the power supply is awful. I would definitely recommend buying this but as soon as you get it, chuck the power supply in the bin and buy a switching power supply (12V, 1A, 5.5mm barrel connector, center positive. There are hundreds on Amazon, here's an example: http://amzn.eu/6JETB9v). The one provided is one of the old heavy transformer types. I left it on for around 12 hours, the power supply started buzzing, I grabbed it to unplug it and it burnt my fingers, had to use a tea towel to unplug it. If you must use the supplied power supply, don't leave it plugged in unattended. Such a shame because the ball itself is brilliant! Really, really good. To the manufacturer: I would happily spend a couple of pounds more for a better power supply.

Creo qeu es la más grande que encontré. Estupenda. Como avisan otras críticas, viene con enchufe inglés (no el americano). No obsatnte es posible que tengas un adaptador de corriente de -creo- 6 v y ya está. Es lo que yo hice.

Mooie plasmabol, werkt precies zoals hij moet werken, geen negatieve kanten, al moet je er misschien wel een amtislipmatje onder leggen omdat de lamp wat licht is en makkelijk verschuift.

ottimo oggetto per un regalo diverso dal solito, la lampada in oggetto funziona perfettamente e lascia a bocca aperta tutti i bambini. il trasformatore scalda un po' e il foglietto delle istruzioni recita che non si dovrebbe lasciarlo acceso per molto tempo, ma basta sostituire il trasformatore con uno avente amperaggio maggiore e il gioco è fatto. ottima e velocissima la spedizione Amazon, come al solito. tutto perfetto insomma!
