I have finally gotten around to completing my original trilogy lightsaber set with Luke's Episode VI saber. I didn't buy the original with the fixed blade, because the emitter's diameter had to be enlarged in order to hold the blade. This version still has the enlarged emitter to accommodate the blade, but it also has an optional emitter that is more screen accurate for displaying the hilt only. I also like the fact that the blade is removable so it can be replaced if it starts having issues like my Luke's Episode IV/V saber. The light up and sound effects are top notch, and the hilt is very stout.

Super cool gift for my boyfriend. Easy to put together and it glows really bright in the dark. The sound effects when you swing it around are also really cool and entertaining. I might buy myself one so I can have a lightsaber battle with my boyfriend.

After owning several FX Lightsabers (Master Replicas to Hasbro) through the years I have to say this one does take the cake on sound, screen accuracy, and brightness. I have no complaints.

Great product for a good price!!

PROS: 1. Light weight - good for twirling and swinging around with all your fancy saber techniques 2. Sound: Awesome ignition sequence sound and good 'hum' 3. Great construction, as long as you weren't hoping for the same 'battle worn' look the Obiwan saber has CONS: 1. Blade clash too sensitive - like other Dark Series Elite, merely swinging around the saber casually will cause it to "clash" as if you're dueling. This sensitivity needs to be turned way down. I suspect they have it set as high as they do to discourage "hard battle" and people smacking two sabers together too hard to generate the sound. But, when you're just doing simple figure eight saber swinging and it's clashing every second... it's an issue. 2. Like the Vader saber, the belt hook clasp is loose and flops around. Would have liked to seen this have some tension in it like previous models so you're not hearing aluminum smacking itself constantly. OVERALL: While the Dark Series Elite is utilizing better motion chip/sound effects to make swinging and corresponding sounds match, it's still a step behind the legacy Master Replicas products. Still better than non-Elite Dark Series. Still better than Galaxy's Edge sabers. But, still room for improvement for a more realistic effect.
